this lady needs to go back to the kitchen, closing your baton like that will eventually bend it and you will not be able to close it again unless you can bend the steel back into shape with out breaking it.
I have one and only needed to pull it out once. The guy stopped in his tracks, got back in his car and left with the comment "you needed a stick". Oh well! I have since found out that there are some pretty iffy laws regarding them. I found some info at the My-Self-Defense website that worried me a bit. Now I'm not sure I will carry it with me and may just resort to a Taser or something.
Closing it straight down is best, yes. You don't want to tap it at an angle real hard. Just enough to loosen it if it needs it. Thanks Lightingsmart01.
@tbotech i live in Maryland and am 16. I bought a 16 inch one from you guys and was wondering if it is legal for me to wear it in the holster and not concealed. I am an explorer and have asked a few officers and they all seem to not know exactly the age. Any good sites i need to see for maryland laws?
@Mightylite94 I too am an explorer and as far as my agency goes we can not carry batons, I'm not sure how your post works though, so I would talk to your advisors.
@lumpymoose200 Oh no... i don't wear it to anything related to explorers, only when i go out to shop or whatever... but no i would never and have never brought it anywhere near that precinct lol
Got it today. Works great. Great quality. I ordered some throwing knives off you guys too. I get those on Friday. I'm really impressed with your companys service. Thanks.
In the state of California a baton is considered a deadly weapon, which makes that a FELONY! Anybody caught with a baton will go straight to jail. If you carry a baton, you must be in uniform and have a baton permit and it must be exposed. No concealing it. No exceptions. Check your local state laws before purchasing and carrying a baton.
I hate to tell u... And as that is a way of closing it back up.. but i have a cert 2 in security operations and my baton licence.. and your baton wears out very quickly if u hit it on the ground like she did... Personally.. I just tap the first part on the ground ..so the smallest part retracts.. and then use it to jimmy lose the larger part till it retracts also. by thrusting the small part in and out .( but by all means it is fine to do it that way.... but it will last a little longer my way).
