Sorry, but you are mistaking, ownership and control for love. The foundations of abuse. Elizabeth said it best herself-'I am afraid of you' Not a good foundation for a marriage!
Great series! you're so right, they don't make dramas like this anymore in this era of political correctness!
@HonkytonkSue2 I love this series a lot.I do not understand why they do not make things like this anymore, although they did make Clarissa with Saskia Wickham which was very good also.I propose they make a series about the Earls of Derwentwater from 1715,moving on to 1746,why not? Look up the bonnie Earls of Derwentwater-far better idea than these mucky chat shows with a bunch of hounds on drugs shouting at each other, what trash!!!!
As if he didn't just prove it. Why she should be afraid of him. What kind of man shakes a woman like this? He just won't accept reality. He's living in the land of denial. He didn't really know her at all but she gets him. He's a bully! What would it be like to be married to him when everything has to be his way and he uses his temper as a tool? YUK. / Again, this is why you do not do business with realitives.
I forgot how phenomenal this series was!!! The BBC just isn't producing dramas of this caliber any longer; in fact, it has been quite some time. Worth another watching. I saw this in grade-school and fell in love with Ross Poldark. It doesn't disappoint as an adult.
I miss that area around Towednack Church where the wedding of Francis & Elizabeth took place. I frolicked all around there making friends with the horses and trekking alone over the rocky tors of Trendrine Hill towards the lonely tin mines and down the coastal path towards Zennor. It was the such a feeling of freedom.Topped it off with a pint at the Tinners' Arms-what could be better? Poldark inspired me to make that trip from the States. It took me 20 yrs but I got there....
What the heck does he want her for anyway?

she does not look at him at the vow taking.

His willingness to "pay" to get her back shows his sincere love for her. What more proof does anyone need?

Ross is so devoted and unchanging. What every woman wants.
