I bought this album for two reasons, 1. The incredible music of Mr. King, and 2. The guitar on the cover looks just like Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys Strat. The last I heard about this Strat was that it is in the hands of Ulrich Roth, Monica Dannemans ex boyfriend. Where is this Strat today? Who Knows
I bought the lp when it first came out and didn't like it...too commercial I thought. Today? Good to hear Albert just takin it easy. He never does 'get down' on Lucy but it's still cool. Nice fat studio sound.
@Roper99 i think it was 1973 and us white boyz needed this stuff. not too commercial for rock radio. this was his style. live he carried a big band...my favorite King
This was the very first Albert song I ever heard and it is still as impressive to me today. I like the keyboard lead-in, the funky bassline, horns, and the way that Stax blended them. Albert has sooo much expression to his voice and minimalist playing.
Live and in person, he was a huge stage presence and you knew that he was the boss! Thanks for posting this song.
i use bag it up with this song on my husband payday put it on him im just as bad as albert we should have been related.

I've been listening to this song for about 3 years, and I laugh every time when I hear the drummer mess up at 3:50!
