i believed (for a long time) that the movie showed what really happened, I just recently watched the original Olympic footage and realized that it was pilot error, they took the turn too high and that's how they lost control.

Also, the medics helped the team push their sled across the finish line while the Jamaican team walked.

Damn Hollywood, always has to fictionalize a perfectly good true story.

@minusrhs As much as i understand where your coming from, i wouldn't let that ruin the movie for you. Its irrelevant whether the movie shows them pushing the sled or carrying it, pilot error or mechanical failure. What this movie does show, is an incredible journey with four Jamaicans who had a dream and lived it. Cool Runnings is the ultimate underdog story and i believe that this movie reflects that very well, despite a couple factual changes.

well true. But it shud be realistic at the same time. Like no one possibly can take 150 kg on their shoulder (one shoulder) and move down (actually they were traveling up, hence more the effort required) an ice lane. Sliding the bobsled along would have conveyed the same message. They need to be superhumans to carry it like that, and if one of them slips and falls, then the whole sled falls on him. Dead right there. Its not that I don't like the movie, its 1 of my fav, but end has a slight flaw

Wrong. A 4 man crew bobsled weighs approximately approximately (excluding crew) 300Kg which is 670LBS. Each of them had to carry around 75Kg - 80Kg. Especially the guys at the back had to carry even more weight. From a proper engineering prescriptive the guys at the front had to carry 160LBS and the guys at the back had to carry 180LBS each! It is very unlikely that carrying 75K-80Kg on an uphill track on ice would really seem impossible to me. Pushing wud hav been hard but conveyed the message.

I was giving u rough math estimates, which I think u were too dumb to realize. I didnot use a calculator, and as if 661.4lbs and 670 make a lot of difference. Flaw in ur counter reasoning. Earlier I was talking about a 4 man crew with the crew inside (which was wrong) but without the crew d sled's still heavy.

Taking 80-70Kg over ice does not make sense, a fucking twat like you shud understand that, if you have the brains to do so. What about the skates? Yes they were damaged, but since I urge you to see what 'really' happened in the Olympics. The sled was being 'pulled' and 'pushed' by the guys in the orange uniform. How did they do it? They did not carry it. Plus a damaged skates would give them an advantage while going uphill, (would reduce friction).
