Then, in 1933, after a time in which Hitler had sturggled to get the NAZI (National Socialist) party of the ground, he was made chanolar of Germany. Then in 1939, the war started with the Polish Invasion. NAZI'S WERE NOT IN WWI!!!!!!!!!!!!! After WWI yes, A.K.A 1920's when the NAZI party was get goin'......but not during. Look at Saving Private Ryan. Great historical accuracy as far as props. However, in the bell tower scene, the '03 springfield fires 8 shots rather than 5.

This is a really cheesy trailer, but the movie itself is fantastic! i really enjoyed it. apart from the evil barbed wire monster and some weapon inaccuracies it was really realistic in terms of life in the trenches.

Yeah they use Lee-Enfield Mk IV in this and they are ww2 era allthough they are very similar to the MKIII used in the great war

The German Soldier was god and it was a test. Only the boy charly passed it, while the others were doomed. They seeked for god in the trenches and in the brutallity of war but found none so they justified their cruelity to their enemies and to each other only charly maintaining his humanity and thats why he was the last to survive this "hell" .

I think he wasn't God, more like a neutral arbiter of sorts, guarding Purgatory (the haunted trench is very apparently meant to be it). He's essentially the Grimm Reaper, or a ferryman over the river of fate. God, Heaven and Hell are present, but in an abstract form (and are only hinted at (Charlie walking towards the light, the rest of the squad remaining sitting ambivalently in a creepy cavern).
