This is some of the poorest wrestling I've seen to date. Once again you see the woman in black overbalance herself topheavily multiple times. I beg you guys to get this girl into schuai chiao and film the results. It's going to be very comical, for one.
@Metakor Yes, it is my experience that people that move like your "champion" get treated like ragdolls by Schuai Jiao and Judo guys routinely. I've touched hands with push-hands guys that moved like in the above vid. Their skills were sub par at best. When your champion is looking to really test herself, send her to a Schuai Jiao comp and see how she does. Please video it and post it up.
@nomamao I think winning a thai boxing championship using her internal martial arts training is proof enough. Something I'm pretty sure you haven't experienced. But if you have won a thai boxing championship like her using internal chinese martial arts, please post that video.
@abshalom7 lol. I've competed ammy, too... and when it comes to striking, you train just like any other striker. Don't pretend otherwise. She wouldn't. Check her training vid for her comps. Her ability to use any of that BS wrestling in the ring was minimal and she wouldn't say otherwise, either. If she wants to show how well she GRAPPLES, put her in a schuai jiao tourney. Fighting isn't about winning and losing a tourney, but about the competition level. I've lost on points to guys I've hurt
I think most Tai chi teachers, have to understand. Until you understand. What you are doing wrong. This is what your strudent, the young lady in the yellow, will look like. Until you understand. I do not do Tai chi. But I do understand first principle. If you look at the two young ladies. The young lady in yellow never even tried to apply first principle. Until the young lady in yellow understand the first principle. She can only win against nonbullies.
Normally I do not make comments that say something is not so good, but this looks like the stuff we did as boys in the schoolyard. Schoolboywrestling that comes instinctive.
While I will admit that such competitions are much fun and teach you not to give up easiyly, I would not exactly qualify such as martial art.
I mean competitions never look as nice as formal practice, but this?
Pro bono I will asume that the practitioners are yet very junior, and I hope they had fun and get better.
Black shirt girl very rooted and lose. Good

At the highest level of skill, all combat is close combat. In Tai Chi, this means very close indeed. The hips might touch, as seen in this video.
Physical strength is only a small part of it. Tai Chi is all about using your strength the right way, proper geometric alignment, hip rotation, ..
It only looks simple if you've never done any proper Tai Chi. As with any good martial art, there's a whole lot going on that you don't see.
These competitors are martial artists of the highest level.

I'm sure they will be better. But can you show how you did it?
Metakor 2 years ago
and the girl in black is 3 times tuishou europe champion in all catigoreis and sanda and muai tai champion too.
Metakor 2 years ago
I will be honest. I cannot show how I did it. So you are right that I am not fully equiped to make the comment that I made.
So: i did not mean disrespect.
It would perhabs be better if I said that it was difficult for me to see the internal martial arts aspect.
So perhabs I will watch the vid a few times. Maybe then I will get it.
Glad to hear, that the lady in black is an accomplished champion.
Again: I did not mean any disrespect.
Have a nice day
