  • Babarolacucudada - What a great song. Still have the album.

  • i remember this as a 14 year old kid and whenever it was played in the local

dance halls the place erupted in to mayhem .. What a great song with great memories .. long live the spirit of punk rock ..

  • Very BEST !!!!!!!

  • They aren't lip syncing or anything >.>

  • This was released in the UK in August 1980.

  • Una de mis canciones favoritas de toda la vida. Es una lastima que este grupo perdiera un poco el norte después de su primer L.P.

  • THE BEST!!

  • Jeremy Gluck, the lead singer is one of the nicest people i have ever met. What a song!

  • @milbury55 His son sam is one of my best friends! Havent met jeremy yet though

  • This was 1980. It actually says 1980 on the intro...

  • great stuff

  • Hmmm - sound like The Ramones

  • 1980

  • did`nt the singer used to be a writer in the NME?

  • He said 1980 not 1981 i remember it waws 1980 I have a good memory.

  • Classic song from my youth

  • Should have been a bigger hit

  • i was listening to a birthday party mix and this was the 6th of 40 songs .. bargin !!

  • @TheSuedeEd Whattttttt....an american understanding the word IRONY....thats impossible LOL

  • Barracuas for ever

  • BA BA RA RA CU CU DA DA!!

  • Groovy

  • Your Plymouth dealer is a dealin man!

  • I saw them last night at the local bar. They were great.

  • I saw them at the Hope and Anchor. The lead singer laid on the floor and looked up my skirt. I ignored him.

  • great!

  • anyone have the lyrics for this one???

  • Copy the name and Google for it. then yopu get some options; I couldn't copy the lyrics from there, I don't know why. But these exist, you may see them.

  • YEAH my grandmother...ahahhaha

  • Power to the pop!

  • One of my faves. F.BRILLIANT!!!

  • Nicky Turner was a fantastic drummer really underated. Listen to some of his work for The Lords Of the New Church, really clever stuff : )

  • Terry Smith, the drummer on their second album, lives in Australia, and plays in my band, The Elephant Gods.

  • I liked his drumming but his hair was haw-fule...Is he the one who drummed on the third and fourth too?? I might be a little confused, the second LP has this beautifully mystical black n white cover and Chris THE wilson plays on it...is Terry the guy who learned the drooms with the Madness chap in a house off the Holloway road N7 ? If he is, I think he did a runner with my mates girlfriend basturt !

  • I think I may have got it wrong. He plays drums on Mean Times.

  • so his name's MARK? It's the same geezer who played with them until the end...before the new beginning...

  • His name is Terry.

  • ok, Terry...whatever...MEAN TIME one of the best album in my record collection...tho' the front cover was incredibly moody and somewhat dark...Terry...Terry who ?

  • What a great but largely forgotten band.

  • yo...this is news to you (and to me too) Chris WILSON about to release an album with possibly Mike wlihelm + That chap Farrel from the GROOVIES fame and also the chap who plays keyboards in PROCOL HARUM...no not the famous one the other chap. Cld be released on a French label if not mystaken if want more info just mail back thru SEND MESSAGE ta

  • Just for clarity, this is 1980, not 1981.

  • AWESOME song!

But too worse that they played playback lol

  • it's totp, waddya expect

  • The new Plymouth Ba-ba-ra-ra-cu-cu-da-da

  • Fun song ! That narrator is so irritating though ! I've heard him on quite a few of the TOTP videos on You Tube and all he ever does is insult the artists . I hate him !

  • Wht Steve Wright....wht world u from div

  • @KroovyMonsoon Well said, this guy is Steve Wright, basically a professional wanker, UK radio is the home too so many of them. None of them are genuinely funny, just sarcastic and smug. They supposedly make radio 'fun' with their forced hilarity.

  • His name is Steve Wright, and he is the presenter of the tv show TOTP2 ( top of the pops) its an affectionate look back to some bands and singers that have graced the TOTP studios since it started in the 60`s, he is a little irritating, but its all done with good humour.

see also ...Steve wright in the afternoon BBC radio2

  • @KroovyMonsoon He is Steve Wright.

  • most of the TOTP heads were cunts apart from John Peel and Jimmy Saville,, all the rest were cock suckers !!

  • babacukaruda!

  • its ashame they don`t play it from the very begining, theirs asmall bit of talk between the lead singer and another guy, good song though.

  • It was a spoken advert for the car the "Plymouth Barracuda".

Fantastic band! I miss lyrics for their songs. Can anybody help?

  • Hey guys,

I really like this song and I am interested to discover more music that sounds like this does.

Can anybody tell me what genre this band would be categorised into?

    Thank you very much

  • Ramones??????????

  • check out the dickies

  • They'd be either "New Wave" or "Punk/Pop"

  • the exploding heats

  • I want my Woodie back!

  • Great band. I'm sure Jeremy Gluck the singer ran Vinyl Solution Records down Westbourne Grove somewhere. I've bought many great records don there. Class act. Do agreat version of the Hawaii five-O them!!

  • this is right before the drummer nicky turner joined the lords of the new church, both great bands.

  • Great Great old school band...!!! I listen this band when I am going to any beach here in Costa Rica. They make my ride happy.

  • is it weird that i like them more than the ramones.

  • Excelente!!!

  • barracudas are cool

  • I got my copy of this record for free! I loved it. I was a freelance music reviewer at the time. I tried to meet them on a trip to England in 1980 but it didn't work out for some reason. Thanks for posting! I still have my record in the box with their nice letter.

  • Wow! I've never seen any Barracudas videos. I live in the States so it was impossible to find Barracudas stuff back when. But they have always been one of my top bands and I've got everything on vinyl and cd. Any message boards, websites or current activity?

    SURFERS COME BACK

    BARRACUDAS FANS ROMA

  • gluck is awesome! this rivals the beach boys at their best!

  • Not great technically, but you've got to love the enthusiasm. Jeremy Gluck certainly "gives it loads" doesn't he? I remember seeing one of their shows around 1982 where he's rolling around the stage with the mic in his mouth laughing, "not much like our records are we?"

  • Bar bar ra ra cu cu da da!

  • me encanta! 10/10

  • puffff,de puta madre. thank youuuuu!

  • This performance is among the handful of TOTP appearances, including Bowie's "Boys Keep Swinging", that resulted in the record actually going DOWN in the charts afterwards. It's true! Ask Jeremy Gluck, he'll tell ya! :-)

Great tune and even better trousers...

  • Loved it when it was out & still love it!
