Is roker pier the longest stone pier in Britain ?, and i remember as a kid i walked all the way along the large stone wall, and the paddling pool is still there! beside the cafe. In the arcade we would playwith the 'crane' in the glass booth trying to get toys, and the penny slot machines, in 1960's listening to the beatles etc, great days.
I'm actually from south shields, we call ourselves sanddancers or Geordies. I support Newcastle so I guess i'm a geordie sandancer, but I went to Sunderland today and found out it's actually a really nice city! I love the beech and it has really nice houses. And that's from a Geordies point of view :)
thanks for sharing mate, i aint been to sunderland since i was a lad about 15 years ago, is the fair still there? i used to love watching the sea coming up over the railings
