If even in his church the scourge rages you can be sure its not about the preaching. The bottom line is that you can hear Gods word taught in any way, and its not about that. You can only do it in the power of the holy spirit. What he is saying is that you are still trying to do it in the flesh. You might beat it for awhile, but if its your effort you will probably take the glory also. God has a problem with that.
