  • thank you for this awesome video, it has help me a lot.

  • Hey Good stuff, great idea about pronunciation of Biblical words, I truly like it, it helps a lot and don't be intimidated by these guys who thinks is brainwashing, if they don't like it just don't watch it. Keep it going man, God bless.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • see my vids

  • I think that it's interesting

  • What the hell you bible bashers!? Fear? That can never be posistive.

  • The has a schwa. In slow motion it sounds like THA.

  • i don't want to repeat the phrases like "the fear is good" again and again...anyway thanks for the Sectarian English lesson.

  • Like it or not, the King James Bible is a major work of English literature.

  • fuck off

  • you say beginning wrong.

and what's with the religious theme?

  • i need 2 go to the unites states and stay with American family for a while to practice my English so if any one can help plz send pm me

    of course i pay CASH p;

  • thanks, ive trobuled to pronounce longer words in english, like beginning, knowledge, discipline and suggested

  • so, es this going to teach me what the words mean?

  • this isn't English pronunciation, htis is American pronunciation.

  • why are we teaching english through religion?

  • this pronunciation of BEGINNING is wrong.

the final nasal sound needs to be velar-- [ŋ]

    rather than alveolar -- [n]

you're doing it in 'learning' as well.

    so suffer in your jocks.

oh and i'm not too keen on the bible thing, either. it's a pretty awful sample text. but that's for another day...

  • My, friend, this must be a nightmare... I´m from Spain, and now I´ve just found out that I can´t even dream about myself saying the word "beginning" properly. After 30 years trying to learn English, this stuff will lead me to commit suicide.

  • @ddfeim lol

  • Missionaries are the lifeblood of a failing religion based upon a false prophet. Press pause and repeat the phrase. Speak the phrase out loud now. Only fools despise knowledge and discipline. Open your minds and use it instead of quoting a 2000 year old book of mythology. Only fools mindlessly follow scripture of ANY sort. Pause and repeat the phrase, now say it out loud.

  • I admit that this teacher is bad!

That's right it is a 2000 year old book and still you can find it almost anywhere in the world. Why's that Mr. Open Minded? What is behind that?

  • The promise of forgiveness and an eternal heaven no matter what your sin. That is the why this antiquated belief is still alive. It is amazingly easy to convince yourself that your little indiscretions will be forgiven and you will still be welcomed by a loving god. Well.. guess what, read your damn book again. Your god is childish and petulant. He tortures his own worshiper over a bet with a demon, eradicated all life on this planet except a sycophant for his own failings and is anything >

  • < but a just and loving god. You ever actually READ this thing instead of listen to a preachers 'interpretation' that has nothing to do with the actual texts?!?

  • This is well done, and as an English professor and Christian, I appreciate the effort. When you look at the world around us, what better time than now to reinforce Christian values while teaching English!

  • Do not watch this, otherwise you will be brainwashed.

  • just because you don't want to learn, PLEASE don't try to stop somone else

  • Not much fun in this video, but very clear pronunciation...

  • Evil propaganda ...Evil BECAUSE it's propaganda. This aint the ESL I gno and luv.

  • its 'the' not 'tha'

  • Jesus is a myth.

  • What a load of Rubbish

  • !! I LOVE GETTING on the CAM!! msn!!! msg me X

  • only fools despise knowledge and discipline.

  • thanks

  • Learn english having to reapeat such stupid and nonsense sentence? I'd rather learn Japanese!

This is not the best way to start!

    sorry!

  • This isn't proper pronunciation

    it isn't THA

    its the!!!!!

  • The fear of wisdom is the beginning of fanatic religion.

  • Pathetic for Jesus freaks to sink this low; make me wanna puke in their holier-than-thou faces, sickos.

  • texts from the Bible are one of the oldest written text and they are cool I don't see anything wrong with them even I am not the best customer of God

  • what a desperate measure to preach.

  • yes it help!thanks!

  • TENKIUGAD

  • its really great! I love this video, it is useful :)

  • that bible quote is from syrach 1:14 if i'm not mistaken...

my religion teacher made us memorize that quote....

  • these sentences are really good.. i think i now how to pronounce "the" now ;) (i had lots of problems beacause i always tried to pronounce it a little too much like "this" or "that")

  • I think it is a very good way to leran Englsigh and the scriptures: Excellent!!

    Martin

  • Students DO need to see how the speech apparatus is changed to form the different sounds. When you simply ask them to stop the video and repeat, you can bet that most all of them will pronounce many of the difficult sounds incorrectly but think they are pronouncing correctly. And, they get no feedback. But, I DO think your "accent" is a good "model" for any language learner to mimic and to practice. Whether or not it's wrong when they practice alone, they can at least mimic your sounds.

  • Thanks a lot!

    i think it's pretty good!

it teach me how to pronounce despise and discipline.

    want more!

  • you trying to brainwash ppl

  • "I am trying to find the better way to teaching spanish students". Está mal escrito. Es to teach Spanish se escribe con letra mayúscula y además estás haciendo proselitismo. Yo soy cristiano, pero jamás se me ocurriría juntar todo.

  • As an ESL specialist, I find this video disgusting and unprofessional. There is no pronunciation instruction. "The fear of the Lord" is totally backwards. English language learners phrase, need skills to live, work, or study in the US or any other English-speaking nation. You're teaching them your own archaic ideology they can't comprehend -- they can only mimic and not comprehend. English language learners can't pick up on the ignorant connotation of this message. This stinks. DON'T USE IT.

  • I thank your comment, lif02f. I am ok with you at somethings you wrote. The fact, is: I am trying to find the better way to teaching spanish students an easy english pronunciation. I will consider your message. Thanks, again.

  • @OscarDanielRetreage : to teaching spanish students << ??? please explain thank you

  • Sorry! "to learn the english pronunciation", I'm not sure

  • I don't like that pronunciation. I'm learning English at the language school and I prefer british pronunciation. It's much better and easier for me. I understand almost everything that I listen to. However, You speak very fast. Your pronunciation is very different and difficult. You need different nationalities for this project. This way, We can differentiate between lots of accents. I'm sorry, but I think it isn't the right accent for learning the english pronunciation.

  • This video is horrible instruction, but there's nothing wrong with the accent. It's a bland North American accent not attached to any particular region. There is no accent better than any other. Everyone has one. If this is hard for you to understand, it's because you're used to British English. Students of American English think British English is hard to understand. Imagine that.

  • I thank your suggestion, AlSpider. Placing a lesson for brithis pronunciation and amercian pronunciation it's the way you like, you don't? I want to creat an easy way for spanish speakers, to learning American english. so, please, write me more of your ideas about. thank, You!

    Oscar.

  • @OscarDanielRetreage Don´t listen to him ! Everybody prefers the American Pronounciation !

  • british please!!!. it sounds weird. american accent sounds better and it is easier. english has evolved in america!!

  • Thanks for your help.

  • You give no instruction on how to pronounce the words. People have trouble with d's, t's, n's at the end of words, r's and l's and and th's. You say them slowly alright but you don't even show the person speaking to give the idea what their lips should be doing. You don't say what the tongue should be doing. No this is not a very helpful video for English pronounciation.

  • daubert, do you think that is better to post moving lips at the screen? Please explain detailed needs you think about. Thanks for your comment.
