They ALL have complaints. My husband had to have surgery in Germany last year (thanks to our idiot FDA for not approving a procedure) and his roomie was an Irish man who COULD NOT GET SURGERY in Ireland (socialized) and had to go to Germany. Research this people - it is NOT as good as it sounds.

So there Is the issue of here in the states our government has shown ill care in properly spending money on services to people example the bankrupt mail service. Now there is a 2nd issue where in france once the population starts to shift to an older generation "sooner than you think" the system will run out of money. No one wants anyone to die.
Except you forget to mention that if Ron Paul is elected, the cost of medicine and healthcare would drastically go down. This way there would not be a need for universal healthcare when it is easily affordable.

- this is an assumption based on the flawed idea of competition between providers in complete absense of regulation (there's no more chance of it working this time than at the start of the industrial revolution) and given how deregulation under the bush administration fueled the economic crisis your currently in you should be very wary of it.

- the PUBLIC sector does have particularly long waiting lists compared to most other places
- HOWEVER as i mentioned this does not negate the PRIVATE option (a sector, which in Ireland is comparatively larger than most places)

@types10000 No, his roomie was in intense pain which was caused by the botched Irish lumbar surgery (massive infection at site plus problems they could not figure out) and the Irish system put him on a waiting list for 6 months for the MRI to determine what exactly was the problem. He could not last 6 months in that pain, so he got on the internet and found this hospital in Germany that specialized in spinal surgery. It was NOT cheaper by any means!

As for his site infection, they sent him home with an IV set up, and three times a day he had to administer his own very high powered antibiotic treatments. NO ONE can tell me that this scene has ever unfolded in the US, in any income range! Think twice about the socialized medicine everyone.

So he did lots of research (imagine that - learning things on the internet!) and found an artificial disk that this hospital specialized in. It was AN AMERICAN INVENTED AND MADE DISK! Yep. Let's hear it for our government running our entire medical system.

So there Is the issue of here in the states our government has shown ill care in properly spending money on services to people example the bankrupt mail service. Now there is a 2nd issue where in france once the population starts to shift to an older generation "sooner than you think" the system will run out of money. No one wants anyone to die.
