  • JJs got some pipes! 2:52

  • @tylerdwells um, that's David Ryan Harris singing, not JJ Johnson

  • @Gupps0123456 When I said pipes, I meant biceps. haha.

  • I would love to be the middle of of John Mayer and Johnny Depp sandwich.

  • Amo esta cancion, las progresiones de Harrison son increibles, la parte que cambia la tonalidad usando los disminuidos esta increible

  • Good job.

  • Good vibe! I like it...

  • i love george! Argentina!

  • good cover ... but not knocked out by this guy..... seems pretty run of the mill.... nuthin special

  • @JerichoDitch2 ahhh, you obviously havent heard his Guitar God stuff. The ferocity of SRV and Hendrix with the finess and soul of BB King. He is a very special.

Still, if your gonna cover Geogre Harrison... do Wah Wah! such a tune!! :D

  • excelente

  • Can't even put into words what I feel when hearing this song. Takes me to such a peaceful, serene and sweet place.

  • @SunflowerAim My feelings exactly. Hopefully George is now with his sweet Lord. Such a wonderful prayer.

  • @geezloueeze .. Yes, that is my prayer too.

  • @SunflowerAim : ) Happy holy-days....

  • @geezloueeze :) Merry Christmas!

  • i love hanamoon

  • Can someone tell, also, the second chord john does (in tabs)? Thank you so much.

  • @fjrsm its a B

looks like hes touching the G note on the low E string but hes not.

x24442 is the b chord but he might also be doing 224440 just try those and try some combinations you'll get it

  • Does anyone know Robbie's tuning? I really need to know. Thank you

  • Still Great Tune ,Oh yeah !!!

  • Wow

  • Great. Beatles Rock this WOrld and so is John Mayer and his friends. Mc Intosh is GENIOUS, DRH is HUGE.

  • adoro esta musica ,amo john mayer e esta musica ficou linda

  • amo esta musica e o jonh maier cantando ficou melhor ainda !!!LINDO

  • um just because youve lived in certain places - doesnt mean you know anything about music - but Johnny is good! ;-

  • Mayer is one seriously talented musician

  • this is a good modern version of this song

  • Are you serious?? What year were you born mate? Did ur parents shelter you from The Beatles????

  • sorry but i dont understand people like you on youtube: in his very very first sentence in the first few seconds in the video he tells that this is a cover song and one of his favorite George Harrison tunes. If it was at the end of the vid i could understand, that okay you didnt watch it till the end, but it is at the first moments of the vid.

Sorry for my comment, but you were not the first i saw doing this here on YT and now is the time to let it out of me :)

  • @nesselegant ur an idiot..he says its a cover song at the beginning..

  • Haha he looks kinda funny when he sings.

  • definately some killer chords in this song

  • Wow! I loved this song back when I was 10 or 12 years old... and I´m a die-hard John Mayer fan... but I didn´t know I could get it both together! Thanks so much :-)))

  • that was a pretty boring cover... he got the lyrics mixed up a bit and the backup vocals were pretty shite, good attempt tho

  • lol at the BC flag in the audience

  • shit crowd

  • he's not that well known in the UK hence the small crowd he's got

  • well i wouldn't say that's a small crowd, there is over 100,000 people watching him.

  • 100 thousand? have you been smoking crack. The capacity at Glasto that year was 175k, his set was mid afternoon, small act, I'd say maximum 10 thousand there

  • well i was exadurating, i'm just saying it's not a small crowd...there's no need for an arguement.

  • hell, id be happy to play in front of 10,000 peeps

  • Yeah i know, I don't know why this is! I went to Germany a few days ago and I heard Belief on the radio. I was really annoyed! All we get is No Such Thing now and again - which don't get me wrong - is a great song but probably his most commercial, i want to hear his rock and blues!!!!

  • @snoozeyoulose19 Co-op radio FTW! It is very annoying. Only ever heard waiting on the world to change and that was on when terry wogan was still going. Heard heartbreak warfare once on rock fm at half one in the morning. Still nice to know that his talent stretches out so far that he doesn't need to cpome over here and plug his songs and have campaigns promoting them yet he still performs sell-out concerts over here and his music is bleeding onto the radio without any third party help. Mayer!

  • And the audience is going crazy!!!.... ehh

  • i dont see the 'download mp3' button

  • Seriously tight rhythm section. Great cover.

  • I like this cover. Much more mellow. Sweet stuff.

  • wow, flawless cover.

  • hes not overrated at all, he gets bad press in america and he gets no press in england. from a real JM fan he really is amazing, and obv nothing compared to the beatles, ive lived in america and born in liverpool i know music

  • @smithdonone haha just b/c u were born in liverpool and lived in USA u know music? I like JM as well but that statement just makes u sound arrogant....just sayin'

  • @smithdonone oh yeah i forgot, you have to live in america or in the uk to know music.

  • @WickyGirl Not really. You just need the right influence :]

  • @smithdonone i live in lpool and i love him ;)

  • @smithdonone I grew up on Penny Lane :')

  • @smithdonone You are the biggest fucking idiot in the world. The beatles suck

  • They are not the gods we think they are, but their music is still amazeing and beautyful. FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's as famous as he is cause he is one of a kind at what he does. He's in a genre/league by himself right now. I don't think he's overrated. He's a talented & great songwriter & guitarist. Listen to "The Hurt" & tell me he's an overrated writer. Listen to his cover of "wait until tomorrow" & tell me he's an overrated guitar player, its nonsense. People just don't give him the chance to break their stereotype of him & always judge someone based on something they can't do themselves anyways.

  • I think that people don't think enough of him honestly. My friends always tell me he sucks. They need to listen to TRY! or WTLI or something that shows his true talent. NOt saying his pop hits were bad or anything. But he just wasn't putting it all on the line.

  • Exactly... "pop" just means popular so anyone who is big time famous is considered pop, even hip hop guys. john knew he had to have a few songs to get some attention and thats what he did. now he's got the attention and if people gave his newer stuff a chance, they might like him more. they're just stuck thinking its going to be like "ybiaw" but its not at all... it really sucks.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. I think his new stuff of "Battle studies" will hopefully make people think of him more seriously. "Who Says" is kinda "Poppy" but not as much as his other stuff.

  • oddly john's guitar seems like it's the quietest of the instruments in the video

    but 12 string ftw

  • Yeah, never seen him play a 12 string.

  • john is an artist that seems to have an excellent feel for what songs he can cover that will really fit his style. he also always seems to have a great deal of respect for the artists that he's covering which makes it that much easier and enjoyable to watch and listen to

  • Que guitarra es la roja que trae el señor?

  • what is the mark of red guitar?

  • I think it's an Epiphone Wilshire.

  • I think it's a melody maker. Really not sure though.

  • Martin

  • ahh this upsets me

i didnt know any of his music back then and now i know it all. wish i had seen him properly

  • wow awesome job john

  • Awesome song, awesome cover. Great thing, the great music of the past is still here today and still has an effect on people :-)

  • i wish they would've sung the hare krishna mantras.. i find that to the real beauty of the song

  • i just saw a vid of Springsteen covering this song and also leaves out the Hare Krishna part.

Thats the icing on the cake. I'm sure George would have wanted the Hare Krishna chant included.... more than any other part of the song. Krishna is very dear to George.... and George to Krishna.

  • lol...mayer and springsteen are probably christians cause the krishna bit is from the hindu religion or somethin

  • but thats why George put in the Hallelujah part. to show that God is one, dispite someones religion.

i think that just goes to show the depth of John Mayer compared to the depth of George Harrison.

  • definitely....theres no comparison between harrison and mayer...harrison is one of the greatest artists of all time..however hallelujah is a christian and jewish chant...and the christian and jewish god is not hare krishna...thus the exclusion of the hare hare part

  • does any one kno wut chords he using or if hes in a dif. tuning cause GH uses capo 2

  • i may be wrong but i think he uses the same chord shapings but without the capo .. so basically full step down like goerge did in his later years

  • Thanks! cause i was wondering about that!

  • haha its been bugging me too...now i'm thinking he's doing it in the same key..but just doing the same chords but not using the capo..just alternate shapings and such...i think thats what he's doing haha

  • yea basically the more difficult way lol

  • Is that an old Epiphone electric on the slide?

  • OMG!!... he plays a 12 string....NICE!!!

  • Very nice cover! I've seen him a week before this, in The Hague (Netherlands). There he played this song too, awsome!

    Thnx for posting!

  • jajajajaja klopt!!! yes yes yes indeed!!

  • Sweet cover. Sweet vocals by John.

  • Um. Wow! What an amazing cover. I love this song!

  • Can someone please tell me the name of the guitarist in this video who plays the slide lead?

  • its robbie macintosh

  • Thanks. It's lovely to hear him play that slide. Sounds very much like George Harrison would've played it, especially at 2:19

  • thanks john for making a cover of this very nice song..

  • I have had a love affair with this song since 1971 when I first heard it. I even remember where I was. The lyrics and music have sweetly haunted me to this day. I really want to see you Lord and George too but it takes so long My Lord, Alleluja.

  • this is amazing
