John Mayer gives me hope that music isn't dead. His vocals are outstanding, and his arrangements/writing and instrumentalism is dead on and complex. He doesn't need ANY artificial techno junk or studio tricks to make him sound good. It's ridiculous comparing one musician to another. It's like comparing which feeling is best. His music is pleasing, clean and tight, and it makes me feel good. That's all you can ask for.

@JerichoDitch2 ahhh, you obviously havent heard his Guitar God stuff. The ferocity of SRV and Hendrix with the finess and soul of BB King. He is a very special.
Still, if your gonna cover Geogre Harrison... do Wah Wah! such a tune!! :D
sorry but i dont understand people like you on youtube: in his very very first sentence in the first few seconds in the video he tells that this is a cover song and one of his favorite George Harrison tunes. If it was at the end of the vid i could understand, that okay you didnt watch it till the end, but it is at the first moments of the vid.
Sorry for my comment, but you were not the first i saw doing this here on YT and now is the time to let it out of me :)

I am a big fan of john Mayer since he started his career, but i have to say he kind of let me down. I don't get the feel of the song in this rendition.
Wow! I loved this song back when I was 10 or 12 years old... and I´m a die-hard John Mayer fan... but I didn´t know I could get it both together! Thanks so much :-)))
100 thousand? have you been smoking crack. The capacity at Glasto that year was 175k, his set was mid afternoon, small act, I'd say maximum 10 thousand there
Yeah i know, I don't know why this is! I went to Germany a few days ago and I heard Belief on the radio. I was really annoyed! All we get is No Such Thing now and again - which don't get me wrong - is a great song but probably his most commercial, i want to hear his rock and blues!!!!
@snoozeyoulose19 Co-op radio FTW! It is very annoying. Only ever heard waiting on the world to change and that was on when terry wogan was still going. Heard heartbreak warfare once on rock fm at half one in the morning. Still nice to know that his talent stretches out so far that he doesn't need to cpome over here and plug his songs and have campaigns promoting them yet he still performs sell-out concerts over here and his music is bleeding onto the radio without any third party help. Mayer!

I think this is a horrible cover. It manages to completely not capture the real essence and spirit of the song. Cmon guys listen to the original by George and listen to his voice and hear how he is really crying for help. I do like Mayer I just think they missed it with this one.

Personally, I think John Mayer is one of the most over-rated artists of modern times. No comparison with George Harrison here. But Mayer's song is good.
hes not overrated at all, he gets bad press in america and he gets no press in england. from a real JM fan he really is amazing, and obv nothing compared to the beatles, ive lived in america and born in liverpool i know music
@smithdonone haha just b/c u were born in liverpool and lived in USA u know music? I like JM as well but that statement just makes u sound arrogant....just sayin'
He's as famous as he is cause he is one of a kind at what he does. He's in a genre/league by himself right now. I don't think he's overrated. He's a talented & great songwriter & guitarist. Listen to "The Hurt" & tell me he's an overrated writer. Listen to his cover of "wait until tomorrow" & tell me he's an overrated guitar player, its nonsense. People just don't give him the chance to break their stereotype of him & always judge someone based on something they can't do themselves anyways.
I think that people don't think enough of him honestly. My friends always tell me he sucks. They need to listen to TRY! or WTLI or something that shows his true talent. NOt saying his pop hits were bad or anything. But he just wasn't putting it all on the line.
Exactly... "pop" just means popular so anyone who is big time famous is considered pop, even hip hop guys. john knew he had to have a few songs to get some attention and thats what he did. now he's got the attention and if people gave his newer stuff a chance, they might like him more. they're just stuck thinking its going to be like "ybiaw" but its not at all... it really sucks.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I think his new stuff of "Battle studies" will hopefully make people think of him more seriously. "Who Says" is kinda "Poppy" but not as much as his other stuff.
john is an artist that seems to have an excellent feel for what songs he can cover that will really fit his style. he also always seems to have a great deal of respect for the artists that he's covering which makes it that much easier and enjoyable to watch and listen to
i just saw a vid of Springsteen covering this song and also leaves out the Hare Krishna part.
Thats the icing on the cake. I'm sure George would have wanted the Hare Krishna chant included.... more than any other part of the song. Krishna is very dear to George.... and George to Krishna.

haha its been bugging me too...now i'm thinking he's doing it in the same key..but just doing the same chords but not using the capo..just alternate shapings and such...i think thats what he's doing haha
