Alright folks, need your help here. I went fly fishing yesterday and as I fished off the banks I heard "WOOOOSH" and heard a splash that startled me. Then I saw it... 3 nice carp about 3 lbs maybe about the size 2:15 of this video maybe smaller. I put a mosquito fly right in front of their face and they weren't interested. It was so frustrating!! What kind of fly can I use? Help me catch these monsters!! Thanks for the video it got me pumped to go fishing.

@Tuberidin01 first off these guys were not surfacing for food. what they are doing is a mystery to sciences; could be communication between other carp with slaps and jumps, or maybe they just want to get some fresh air (hahahaha). but yeah, jumping carp WONT take a fly. but, if you see their back or their tails in the shallows, they are prolly rooting/feeding (throw a nymph or a crawfish imitator) or if you see their lips sucking off the surface (like a trout/panfish) then, throw them a dry :)

Dude carp are dumb as hell. They eat anything that crosses their path. If you live anywere near Utah, you Can to to Any res. and you will catch as many carp on your smallmouth flies as you do the bass. In my experience they only fight hard because they are heavy.

Schiel's Producer Leach is my favorite fly for carp. It is wieghted so it gets down to thier level for feeding, but doesn't slap the water and scare them when you cast it.

i see u use nymphs what kind of nymphs u use and sometimes carp swims with his back treu the water why is that? and can you catch the carp that are just below the surface?
