I read an interview with Vic Morrow where he said the cast had no idea what the creature was, the producers told them it would be top notch effects and act scared. They didn't know until the movie's premiere and naturally were embarassed at the cheap puppet that came out.

The noise this "Bird" makes is fucking great,it
makes the empty hollow roar of Toho's Godzilla
sound good.That does take some doing when you
consider the Toho film studio thought a Telephone was "High Tech" "High Spec" Equipment.
Also the noise just keeps a coming,never mind seeing the thing surely it would have been heard first??.Thanks for uploading iT I do love crappy B movies but this is about "the Worst" I have seen.I am shocked that I have not seen it before,with it being a classic.

I don't care how lousy the special effects are (& some of the dialogue, too) -- Jeff Morrow's in this movie, so it's not a total loss.
