This is more properly referred to as a flatbow rather than a longbow. I have an english longbow myself and the design is a bit different and the bow itself is a lot longer (72 inches) than this one looks to be.
@diceman199 flatbows are a type of longbow, as long as they are the same height or taller than the user they are a longbow. Also flatbows have rectangle shaped limbs, theses aren't quite rectangular.
The Tomahawk SS 40# is a very nice bow. Got one myself. Smooth draw, and very reliable. However - these days I prefer faster bows. When shooting 3D targets I find the SS to be very functional when shooting at targets closer than 16m .. above 16m I prefer faster bows .. Nice video :)

Hola. Empezar con arco d iniciacion ,es lo politicamente correcto, eso si , no utilices nunca ninguna mira , cliker o cualquier cosa... tienes q aprender a desarrollar tu instinto, tu punteria. 2 cositas: escoge un arco que tenga un libraje alto (yo empezaria con 30 35,Lbs como mucho) de esta manera iras aprendiendo la tecnica bien y no t tendras q pelear con el arco. La otra cosa es q escogas un arco de iniciacion de madera y no de aluminio, el tacto y el sonido son totalmente direntes.Suerte!

Yo tiro en la modalidad de Arco Desnudo o Clàsico y tengo un Hoyt GameMaster II pero realmente admiro a los que tirais con LongBow , ya que es la modalidad mas complicada ya que el LongBow es con diferencia el mas complicado de usar y el que menos precisiòn tiene.

Im shooting longbow for almost 3 years and what I can say about it ,is ; needs many patience and lot of practises and step by step everything is going out!

Impressive shots man.. but i got a question.. when ur shooting a recurve bow.. u keep the string in the middle of ur nose and lips.. but when i am shooting with my flatbow i am holding the arrow beside my head.. but some trainer was like no no u gotta hold the string in the middle of ur nose and lips.. but i think that the way of shooting is different per person.. do u see the string in the middle of ur eyes when u shoot? or are u more looking at the target like i do?
@vinsk8er4life There are many different ways of shooting, Pulling to the cheekbone as you do is often called Longbow style, it is how traditional english archers shot, and most accounts of greek, native american, asian, and european archers shot in the past. It is the way I wanna learn! Looking at your target instead of through sights or down the arrow, is known as instinctive shooting, and is more like being the arrow, but takes allot of practice, it is also what I wanna learn!

@vinsk8er4life To get a cheap bow in the U.S.A. its between 500$-1000$, I did find some imported ones for 200$, I could get a bow and all supplies for 450$ from 3rivers archery, but I can't seem to find a job : \ maybe when I complete my GED I can get one. Anyways good day :D

@miles305678 hey thats a nice draw weight to get started. Be sure to get a job soon! :D I crafted my own flatbow last weekend. I wanted it te become 50 pounds but due to lots of scrapping it ended up at 36 - 40 at 27 inches.

Im trying to get comfortable with aiming, using a recurve I think the rentals are around 25-28#

Que buen video tambien me anima a seguir entrenado en esta modalidad... yo compre un arco de madera en diciembre, es de 30lb y actualmente he estado entrenando minimo un dia por semana, desgraciadamente aqui en donde resido no hay un club de arqueria, pero junto con algunos de mis amigos hemos estado entrenando... me gusta el comentario de no usar miras ni nada de eso, de desarrollar el instinto.. nos falta tambien mucho para tener la precision que tiene usted, pero algun dia lo lograremos...

Gracias por contestarme. Ya he contactado con un club de tiro y me han aconsejado que empieze con un arco de iniciacion. Veo que el arco de iniciación es recurvo. ¿Crees tú que es buena idea? . Espero que luego no tenga problemas para pasarme al longbow y al tiro instintivo y todo eso. Muchas gracias por tus ánimos. Un saludo.

Hola. Empezar con arco d iniciacion ,es lo politicamente correcto, eso si , no utilices nunca ninguna mira , cliker o cualquier cosa... tienes q aprender a desarrollar tu instinto, tu punteria. 2 cositas: escoge un arco que tenga un libraje alto (yo empezaria con 30 35,Lbs como mucho) de esta manera iras aprendiendo la tecnica bien y no t tendras q pelear con el arco. La otra cosa es q escogas un arco de iniciacion de madera y no de aluminio, el tacto y el sonido son totalmente direntes.Suerte!

Me gusta mucho el vídeo, llevo poco prácticando con arco (unos 6 meses) y la modalidad Longbow es la que he escogido para "especializarme" ya que se ajusa más a mi filosofía de tiro ;) Menuda precisón de tiro, me faltan años para llegar a tu nivel, pero viendo tu vídeo me he animado a seguir en esta modalidad. Tenía la intención de comprarme un Tomahawk Bow pero no he encontrado sitio en España que lo comercialize ¿Dónde te hiciste con él?

Hola, me alegra que el video te anime. Yo no llevo tantos años tirando ,unos 6 mas o menos y lo q m falta por aprender......... En cuando al Tomahawk , tengo dos y los compre en USA en la tienda del fabricante 3rivers. En españa no los comercializa nadie. (dicho de paso el del video lo estoy vendiendo) . Si, lo estoy vendiendo. Tengo dos uno de 40lbs y otro de 45lbs. Solo estoy utilizando el d 45lbs . Esta en perfecto estado,practicamente nuevo.lo vendo en 400€. Saludos

Me encanta este vídeo. Ya lo he visto unas cuantas veces y da gusto verte disparar. Yo tengo 42 años y quisiera inicarme en el tiro con arco. Ando mirando videos y paginas por Internet y creo que el que más me está gustando es el Longbow. Crees que yo podría aprender a mi edad? Acepto cualquier consejo que tu me des. Me alegra que te guste el video. Nunca es tarde si la dicha es buena! asi q ya sabes....Si te gusta el longbow a por el. Solo decirte que no te desanimes al principio. Tirar con arco es dificil y con un longbow lo es aun mas, perdona poco,pero es precioso y cuando tienes el dia , la satisfaccion es enorme. Saludos y suerte

Excelente video , musica y Producciòn ;) . Yo tiro en la modalidad de Arco Desnudo o Clàsico y tengo un Hoyt GameMaster II pero realmente admiro a los que tirais con LongBow , ya que es la modalidad mas complicada ya que el LongBow es con diferencia el mas complicado de usar y el que menos precisiòn tiene.
Aunque viendo tu video lo de poca precisiòn en tu caso no jejeje Felicidades , saludos desde Còrdoba

Gracias . Me alegra q t guste el video. La verdad es q el Longbow no perdona mucho. Si sueltas un pelin mal o no sujetas el brazo de arco bien....... o tan solo no disparas con firmeza ,se consiguen pocos puntos, pero como todo ,es........ practicar , practicar y no desesperar en el intento.

that is the reason because I ve made this video. Where I live and probably everywhere (except korea and Italy) Traditional Archery is not really a popular Sport and needs a little bit promo ,it is a shame ,because it´s a wonderful sport that everyone can practise.

Impressive shots man.. but i got a question.. when ur shooting a recurve bow.. u keep the string in the middle of ur nose and lips.. but when i am shooting with my flatbow i am holding the arrow beside my head.. but some trainer was like no no u gotta hold the string in the middle of ur nose and lips.. but i think that the way of shooting is different per person.. do u see the string in the middle of ur eyes when u shoot? or are u more looking at the target like i do?

@vinsk8er4life There are many different ways of shooting, Pulling to the cheekbone as you do is often called Longbow style, it is how traditional english archers shot, and most accounts of greek, native american, asian, and european archers shot in the past. It is the way I wanna learn! Looking at your target instead of through sights or down the arrow, is known as instinctive shooting, and is more like being the arrow, but takes allot of practice, it is also what I wanna learn!

@miles305678 U don't have one yet? They aren't that expensive... dunno where u live.. but here in Holland you can get a nice one for . 140 euro's? And than plus all the things u need.. maybe end up around 250?

@vinsk8er4life To get a cheap bow in the U.S.A. its between 500$-1000$, I did find some imported ones for 200$, I could get a bow and all supplies for 450$ from 3rivers archery, but I can't seem to find a job : \ maybe when I complete my GED I can get one. Anyways good day :D

@miles305678 hey thats a nice draw weight to get started. Be sure to get a job soon! :D I crafted my own flatbow last weekend. I wanted it te become 50 pounds but due to lots of scrapping it ended up at 36 - 40 at 27 inches.
Nice bow but I will still keep using my Samick Outlander :)

@JBCCC Its true archery is not as popular as it could be, but in the U.S.A. its on the rise, slowly, very slowly, but it is becoming more popular. I think part of it is people like me who want to do archery so bad, but either cannot afford it or don't know where to start (Both apply to me at the moment) Anyway, best archery video on youtube, thanks for posting!
