What evidence do you have to back up that claim that north pole ice could be gone during the summer months as early as 2040? That is a ridiculous claim.
What evidence do you have that the sun isn't causing these changes? Unless you can disprove the theories about the sun causing the climate changes I suggest you start to teach your lessons with both versions.
it is called summer and winter. it melts during the summer and freezes during the winter. the stuff melting on television is filmed during the summer. it is pure propaganda. polar bears swim hundreds of miles to hunt seals and small whales.
and if the water is salt water ?? and the ice on top has no salt in it ??. salt water is denser than fresh water. adding more fresh water to salt water expands the volume. So even floating ice if it is on top of salt water it will raise water levels . Can you show this experiment please ?

Antarctica has an ice dome 14000 ft tall. It weighs so much it has pushed the land level down to 2000 ft below sea level. Even if the land doesn't rebound when the weight is removed, that leaves a 12,000 ft pile of ice the size of a continent to run off into the ocean.
even if all the ice melts, the oceans will not increase more than a foot because the oceans are that massive.

Much of the antartic land is 3000m below sea level so that in effect 3000m of the ice is floating and is the same as the artic ice.
