I related somewhat to this movie when I was a croupier. Angry cheating punters, many miserable people addicted to losing, coming home at 4am and not being able to get to sleep for ages. Good enough money, but terrible job after about the first year.
Great movie from the perspective of an ex-casino worker.
it´s me at the roulette table ;-).... Clives eyes... wow! ..it was so funny...the croupies doubles name was Russel and Clives name Jack, together a little cute dog..;-)
I saw this movie when I was way too young to understand it. I was about eight or nine. I knew I was watching something totally unique and amazing but I didn't understand it at all. It's very cool to watch it again now
40 spins an hour is a piece of piss!! 20 seconds for ball to spin, 40 seconds to clear and pay out, 30 seconds to empty your machine and give the customers a chance to bet... except when u have a full game and the machine eats all your chips, then u cant pay out so fast!
@oiyoustfuplz : eheheh...right answer mate...n maybe both colors at the same time...time he spends to count his spins ( 1 hr i think) i spend to count my tips...two different ways to work...
anyway fair roulette is for rookies, if someone wants to be called croupier he has to learn france roulette
The editing was great, in fact just about everything was great, but you left out an incredible scene, just after the one where he gets in the fight with the cheat. The scene with his female colleague, as she's patching him up, you know the one! Any chance you can post that?
My goodness. This movie interests me, but I'm interested more in seeing Clive Owen as James Bond. He has the rugged handsomeness that Connery and Dalton had, but that Brosnan and Moore lacked in their finery, And damn, does he ever have the eyes for it. The icy glare, and deep dark uncaring abyss in his eyes. D.Craig has the ice, but not the abyss. That's what made Connery so special and menacing. I hope Owen gets teh chance.
This film was made in the UK. London to be exact. It was released in 1998 and is a far cry from Hollywood, in the most natural meaning of the term. It is very neo-noir w/ the main characters internal dialogue, which you will find in many films from the 40's and early 50's of the aforementioned genre. The epitome of this style would be the great Humphrey Bogart in the Maltese Falcon.
great upload!

Not a very good movie. And if any croupier kept spinning the ball that quickly, he'd have a lot of pissed off players.

I have no idea how old is this movie.I was bored and I sort of liked it.
To be honest I'm getting pretty sick of Transformers and other mind fcking that's lately coming from Hollywood.
