@AdSlice86 Oct 5 we had a record for soybeans in Ontario. 160 acres, 115 combines, 11 min 43 sec. Crop yield was close to 60 bu. Had to slow down a bit because crop was 17% moisture. Hope to have video up soon! Google Harvest for Hunger. Farmers rock!
Well done, its a great achievement! Is that the way ye normally harvest crops, ie - mow beforehand and then pick up or do ye not just cut directly like most combines?
@vincenzolorenzo most guys in the area straight cut however a couple of guys will cut it ahead of time to dry it out... that way you dont have to desicate either
the field in combines 4 charity had no tilled division with a barrier between combines and i would agree with wknelsen that the combines were in the same location which in itself was a fantastic achievement. I know the grain was not wasted but wondered what tonnage was taken off the crop
@cloneylogan - Look closely at the combines4charity field. I believe I saw some areas either pre-harvested or just flattened. As a matter of fact there could be at least 4 plots if you say a division area creates a separate plot.
@cloneylogan - if you have concerns about the legitimacy of this record, I suggest confronting Guinness on the matter. I think what matters is that the combines were working together in the same location at the same time to harvest wheat that was planted and swathed as one field. I could see your point if it was in entirely different locations.
Regarding wasted grain, I believe all the grain harvested from the field was sold, and none was wasted at all.
I am indeed a farmer and if i divide a field in any way I end up with 2 seperate plots If you look at combines4charity website you will see all their combines in the same field.
Congrats again to H4K's on collecting 200 combines into 2 plots !!!
@cloneylogan - not sure where you're not getting one field out of this. Are you a farmer? Just because they pre-harvested an area doesn't mean it wasn't on the same field. Give them some credit.
Great job Harvest for Kids! Looks like a great success.
maybe the guinness adjudicator did agree but the event was still in two fields unlike the combines 4 charity event which had all combines working together. how many tons of grain was trashed on the day
It was a single field and we pre-harvested out the middle to make room for spectators and a farm show, it was confirmed with the Guinness adjudicator ahead of time that it would still be considered one field.

Bit of irony that Ireland ever held this record given the size of our fields & how wet it is here, but they've not raised the bar beyond us ;)

@moover2 They're doing it again next year to reclaim the crown, need to be further south imo, to get all the wexford/cork combines involved

@vincenzolorenzo It varies with the farmer, the type of crop and the equipment they use.
