@stumperino1177 there's no how many hit to cut of tails as all weapons has different power.Only the 4 elders dragons(lunastra,teostra,chame­leos,kushala doara) are different:their health must be at least 30% to 40% to cut it off

@akirakhan1 Bone-Large Bone-Bone Katana Wolf-Bone Katana Shark-Bone Katana Dragon-Fire Dragonsword-Red Dragonsword-Smolder Dragonsword and then it last upgrade with wont be able to get till grank is Knockout Dragonsword you can skip the Bone path if u have some lao horn and his part but i would recomend go with the whole thing it would reduce less part needed

@TheBlackRath yea it has the same moves more or less, but teo's physical attacks hurt more and luna's fire attacks hurt more iirc.

for elder dragon blood, try making onslaught or ceanataur head axe first, then kill 6* elder lao. u get blood everytime u kill him. at least, thats wat happened to me anyway.... as for chameleos killing....i think he's weaker to dragon on his tail/chest and weaker to fire on his legs. o.O but u need to do enough dmg to make him run away then finish him off on next quest

And if your not using a dragon element weapon go for the tail. Cutting the tail off works just as well as breaking the horns(but not nearly as fun to do:P)

U can get fire dragon sword after u do shen gaoren urgent. Cuz u get a quest a giant dragon invades. Use anvil against BOTH shen gaoren and lao shan lung(6* ones) for easy repel. Need to do quests a few times for commendations XD

when luna or teos are using their red sparkle attack, i usually stand directly under them. most of the time it misses me and i get free attacks in. you will want to be on the left side of them though because that side has a lesser chance of exploding under him, not 100% but when they are getting weaker i can usually get a complete spirit combo off ( triangle, triangle, circle, triangle, [R], triangle, [R], triangle, [R], triangle+circle ) 12 hit ftw ^^

@markangelo533 just keep on killing elder dragons. they're rare for the elder rank dragons. kusha is the easiest to kil imo, but i believe teo and luna give the higest chance.

@teojiajun1231 you can get firecell stones in the quests from nekoht that require you to go to the volcano. you do not need to be HR 5 or 6, nekohts quests can be gotten at HR1 just finish all the elder chiefs quests then she will make herself available for you

@ivan97ox3 the felyne comrades are acquired just like the cheffs, talk to the old lady outside the house ( only in mh 2G and unite though, they where added there and can't be gotten on mhf2) sometimes she will bring cheffs for you to hire and sometimes she will bring comrades to hire.

i use the narga hammer to farm the elder teostra / lunastra , only 3- 5 hits and they flinch ( even if you dont hit them on the head )

my goodness, it's really really difficult when you're taking on this type of elder dragon more likely without the armor skill terrain damage negate.

thank goodness for the previous kushala run-ins, you can make the set, you don't need to worry about its fire aura when you have this set since it negates any terrain damage.

you sure? coz i think you might be expecting all fire damage would be negated. which is not.

the only damage you won't suffer is the teostra's fire aura..and the lava you walk over in the volcano.

NOT the fire they spew out, the fire "sparks" they send out, the physical attacks they do, and the lava that spurts out from the pits in the volcano.

i think you have a misunderstanding about the armor. :(

eagle cleaver and full rathian. that's the set with the highest raw defence up to that point. you should be able to take more hits. skills aren't that good at this point in the game so get full rathian.

just be careful and keep on attacking her. if you do enough damage, then by the 25 min. it should say "elder dragon injured" or something like that and you win. if you wanna kill her, keep on repelling her and when you cut off her tail, she's weak and ready to be killed.

what? it's tail? well, i have esp, but seeing as you most likely don't, wait for your spirit bar to be full. also, wait well into the fight to attack its tail. you need to have at least green sharpness to cut it. an easy esp set for you would be death stench.
