fuck! I remember this at my granny s home back in 1986. Use to watch this on her crappy black and white TV. I wouldn't hesitate even a sec to go back then when life was much more fun.
the song in the beggining is so wonderfull i could not understand what the aligator was saying because im greek and i dont know very much russian only some words and im watching it from greece a greek cartoon and curiosity brought me here and even i understand almost nothing the kind face of the aligator can show me how good he is
Well I'm 2 minutes in and I am damn sure "500 eskimo" has nothing to do with making candy grow on trees. Subtitles slightly irritatingly inaccurate, but thanks for uploading anyway.
@beamalee Yep, monsieuricon decided it was more important to preserve the general idea and the rhymes than the exact wording. "Eskimo" was a popular type of ice cream.
when i was watching this at that right moment fish hooks was on... and i looked at the computer screen and back to the tv and again and again and again. the cartoons on now are just stupid! i wish we would still have cheburasha on and others like nu pagadi. at least you learn something from these ones :) they are very pretty top watch and very good for little kids. now lets see fish hooks.... haha its just a stupid cartoon that is very scary for little kids to watch, whats the point of it?
Thank you so much for sharing all these wonderful cartoons! The music in this one is just lovely. =D
I know it would be a lot of work, but if you don't mind doing it and have time, it would be *awesome* if you could provide subtitles in Russian as well, for those of us learning the language. Just thought I'd try asking! =)
@FrapaneseGirl Some of them actually do have Russian subtitles. If you go to the Animatsiya Wiki, you can find all of the Russian animated films that also have Russian subtitles (just sort the list of subtitled films by that category).
wow thanks who ever put this up here on youtube i have been trying to find this even know im not russian i have a love for animation from all over the world
Thank you Monsieuricon and Niffiwan for this!!! It just made my week :). The song at the beginning is so lovely. Can I get Gena's phrase "It's a pity that a birthday comes only once a year" written in Russian please? Thanks.
Hey guys, how do you add subtitles to the cartoons?
I translated for my friend a cartoon from Russian into English, I just send it in Russian and separate document with English text, I'd like to make it more comfort for him to watch! Thank U
Not everything is possible to translate accurately into another language, especially puns. If you have a better suggestion for something, you're free to mention it.
Would you please make this a video response to the happy birthday in Russian video I have on my channel? I'd love for my students to see it. Thank you.
I posted it as a response... took 3 seconds. Mine is only a happy birthday greeting for fun. I'd appreciate it if you'd reciprocate the response. Thank you.
Nope. In fact, the accordion is not a garmon (aka. garmoshka) - they are different instruments. The accordion is not diatonic but chromatic, like the Russian bayan, but has keys rather than buttons, and some other differences (including a rather different sound). More information can be found on Wikipedia. :)
Because I live outside Russia I thought my memory might be deceiving me so I checked my Oxford Russian/English and "гармоника" or "гармонь" does seem to be the word for accordion. Bayan, or "баян" is also an accordion however. (And I did search the web too) Ahh, semantics, so much fun...
Well, they are TYPES of accordion. But they're distinct from types of accordion that are widespread in most other countries. It's very hard to buy a garmon or a bayan in Canada, for example...
When I said "accordion" in my first reply, I should have said "piano accordion". It just called "accordion" here because there aren't any other types (in this locale).
(: I like how the little boy gets up after being dropped on his head. Hahaha.

@atuniverse Or you could use the Character Map (in Windows), or its equivalent, if it comes with your OS.

Although I love them all this is by far my favorite out of the series. I especially love and remember well, the song at the start.
The affectionate diminutive of the word accordion becomes garmoshka, and that is just too cute. Is there an English equivalent?
