We will get a storm heading our way then it just gets broke up. When the cluods dissipate...you just see jets and large trails behind them. You are lucky to not have the bugs!
I've never had a year like this one. Last year was bugs everywhere. Now, all I have is cabbage worm. No stink bugs, no mites, no Japanese beatles, nothing.
Hasn't hit the middle midwest. Are your plants heirlooms from seed? me and my friends heirlooms are going apeshit right now. Have to give some away even. What really sucks around here is when you try to grown green beans, collard greens or eggplant. Damn worms tear holes right in them. We plant them away from the rest in hopes that the nasties will attack them and not what we really want. That blight allmost looks like what happens when you water at night but I am not a total expert.
I grow from seed mostly. My beans, collards and eggplant have done well. It has been almost an insect free season for the garden so far till now. A really strange summer on the East Coast. Ussually, I combat sucking insects all season. The blight seems to attack randomly in my garden but, it has destroyed whole crops in other areas near me.
Thanks for sharing your info.
BTW- I haven't watered yet this season because of all the rain, very strange for August (the driest time for us).
