I really think this whole montage, with her walking around Paris and the boat-guy and the dog and dog-shit and pretending to be asleep in bed, all coupled with the music, is honestly the best montage I've ever seen on a show...ever. It was just so perfectly blended..it was like the music and the action were made for each other...and of course the fact that Baryshnikov composed the music makes it even more delicious:-)

@ammarios Just one slightly strange thing (not THAT important but just thought I'd mention it just because I've noticed it lol) : In the DVD , when this montage/scene comes on, the music is in an ever-so-slightly flatter key... probably a semitone I'm thinking.

So, this version on youtube (I have no idea where the uploader got it, but it is slightly sharper (the music's in a slightly sharper key)..maybe 'coz this was not the English version (notice that's not SJP saying "Merci beaucoup"lol

No, I don't know anything about Paris nor the language but something I know for sure is that I felt like that when I first moved here from my native country Mexico. This episode is great. It was so sad to see that Carrie saw the beautifulness of Paris and yet Alexandre's daughter and wife felt the need to feel that Paris' architecture isn't really that great. Carrie would be excited about the Eiffel Tower and yet the daughter would say the light show is horrible. Carrie thought the restuarant was wonderful until the wife said the chair's were hideous. There was always something but without speaking the language, its understandable to feel completely lonely.

It's interesting how they show a few things are the opposite of NYC...you can't bring your pets into a cafe, and there is no smoking allowed in any indoor public buildings. Dog poop has to be picked up. The kids, however, can be bratty anywhere.

Paris is so beautiful. I got on the plane for the first time Christmas day 2007 and flew to Paris. I didn't know any French, I did not have a phone or any money in my pocket. I sobbed for hours the first night, because I was so hungry and I didn't know where to buy food or how to use the telephone. But then I met the love of my life and everything became magical in Paris.
