Alot of car manufactures are pushing body styles to look more generalized so there target audience is wider. The older Impreza's were targeted for the younger group. Go look at the BMW M3 and M6 or how about the Mitsubishi Evo's. they are really toning things down sadly

Every time I hear the letters "STI", the first picture that automatically jumps to my head is the 2006-2007 model.

For me, the best STI ever made was in 2006-7, and I don't think i will ever change my mind about this. 2004-5 deserves the second place but the 2008..... was such a disappointment.

Maybe it was very good, but it sure didn't look like an STI.

The new model is improving though.

For a lot of people the all time favorite is the 04-05 STI. The new one is just not the same. I agree with most of you that STI is having an identity crisis. They don't know what the hell they want. People complaint about the hatch so they made it look like a sedan and put a wing behind it. It just doesn't look right. What a shame.

I Love Subaru Impreza, and always will, but with all honesty this scoobie is on an identity crysis IMO, it looks like an executive limousine with a rear wing, something doesn't look quite right, it looks odd on mud, like it doesn't fit on a rally track any more, it looks more like a touring car, part of the badass personality is kind faded with all the bling, and fancy curves, and the rear lights need to change too.
