@dairylandbogurt truss check out the oldskool dubstep, i agree, the newer and unfortunately more widely known stuff is absolute dogshit but that's an ugly ugly mutation away from the old sound - bassy, subtle, atmospheric minimal music with a sense of space and some of the most crazily sick rhythms you will ever hear.

Something else just popped into my head that may help your ignorant (see - choosing to ignore) mind understand. Bass lines in most songs are inaudible to the mainstream. They literally don't even know the bass is there (they hear it sure, but couldn't identify it or it's pattern if asked). There are songs that step outside that rule like Foster the People's Pumped Up Kicks - mainstream listeners hear it's bass line.

Dubstep actually puts bass in the song. Gives it a home. I love it.

Dubstep is a method of making music that is still being practiced. I personally think that most methods being practiced are building a home for bass that it's never had in music and that it needs. That being said the home isn't done yet... lol. Stuff like Skrillex - totally dubstep driven madness with reference material - will fade in popularity. I really think dubstep will last, though, and we'll see more of it employed as it is in this song.
