This is how unexperienced player sees. I'm playing games very long time, and rather would see some distinctive parts of environment (like ads) instead of game field/road. :o)
interesting... of course most advertising is subliminal anyhoo however it does point at the transition from passive observer which is how most advertising on tv works (eg billboards at the side of the rally) to the active participant (eg the driver of the car is paying attention to the road) well done :) how are things going with you now after a year...?
Anymore of these guys at Bunnyfoot? A good idea to put them on youtube, but what about ads on various websites and more slow moving games too? I'll put this on mediastarz co dot uk and see if it sparks any interest there
I think this is not relevant. Because in the case of the advertisement these games it would be less realistic if there where no advertisement at all. Or even if it where fake advertisement.
What i find interesting is how do in game ads influence people when the ad is not static but dynamic placed within the game. For example: When a person needs to use a phone (Nokia) in the game. What is the influence of this kind of advertisement..
Yes, but... did you ever hear in the "old days" when Coca-Cola embedded a Coke emblem in black and white movies for only a flash in two or three frames. It wasn't really "visibile" in a conscious way. However, sales of Coke products were said to have risen by a significant percentage point. This is one classic case of subliminal messaging. Don't you think that advertisements in games could have a similar affect?

would also be interesting to see eyetracking patterns within games that involve less reaction speeds.second life for example.
