  • Had no idea these guys were all so local to where I live. I've seen the bassist perform before and didn't even make the connection!

  • I have seven speakers and two subs and I'm blasting this song right now. I also posted it to all my friends on Facebook with the lyrics because it has the tempo I like and a very clear rhythm section. Plus the girl is very clear and good.

  • Excellent!

  • I RUV YOO RYHLU

  • The border with pitch problems and jazz style of sounding pitchy is very small.. I am also singing the song and it is not easy to sing and improvise on it.

In this case I don't think that the pitch problem comes from tha style.. It doesn't sound like she imagined to do it so.. I don't know, it's not my place to say, what she imagined.. Just my opinion..

  • Nice!!! What size is that speaker, and is the keyboard coming out through it? Thanks.

  • nice:D

  • I agree that it sounds like she has pitch problems, not only that but her scatting vocabulary isn't very large. It looked a little amateurish to me. Love this song though and she has a beautiful voice.

  • @MarielleAsheLoire - She was 14 at the time.

  • @eezee9 awesome. :)

  • Sorry JazzcatSings, I wholeheartedly disagree! There are no pitch problems. That is jazz! Those notes are chromatic and lovely. (A subtle hiccup during the scat) but an excellent performance. Nice full form from the keyboard player, the bass steady and perfect. Miles would be proud. Well Done Laila.

  • Agree with you. Jazz is different from other singing styles, which can make it sound pitchy. Laila, by the way, is also an amazing pianist (went to jazz camp with her)

  • Great tonal quality to her voice but too many pitch problems for it to be a really enjoyable performance. I'd think she'd be able to hear, seeing as there is a main directed quite close to right at her.

  • Loved seeing you at the festival! I was the guy in the white/green striped shirt and shorts with the curly haired guy in the red shirt. I'm a fan!

  • OMG I Love Laila! I Miss Her!
