This is hilarious & just CLASSIC! Only swamp folks would go up to a snake of which they have no clue if it's "good" or "bad" snake, & mess with it to try & figure it out! Love it!
Mud Snake or the ol' Hoop Snake, as some people like to refer to them. there is a myth associated with this particular serpent that says they can take their tail into their mouth and form their body into a 'hoop' and roll upright along the ground or downhill. ;)
@misdper34 I moved here from Cleveland Ohio last year. Trust me don't move here. Come vacation here once a year, but don't make the same mistake I did
Me and my fiance are thinking about moving to Florida. I hate Ohio. How's the prices on things like rent, utilities etc? How's the job market down there? Any advice anyone could give would be appreciated. Thanks.
@misper34 Move to Cali best weather plus you can grow year round with low humidity san jose area and south 50s & 60s in the winter its great good economy too.
"Aw that thing looks hurt! Lets kick it!!!" By the way you guys are the worst rednecks ever!!! can't even tell if its VENOMOUS or not!! It is by the way, you can tell by the thick tail! I'm a FL redneck and these all make me ashamed to call myself that!!
the shit at 1:30 is fuckin pure comedy gold! i see you have alot of experts claiming to know what kind of snake you have there, but from the video its pretty hard to tell. hope the little fella made, and thanks for not being a dipshit and killing the guy for no reason and letting him go. people are so scared of them its sad. you stand a better chance of hitting the lottery than you do a fatal encounter with a snake.
The snake isn't a racer or rat snake. The snake is actually a Indigo snake. And the snake is currently on the federal protected species list. Indigo's have the orange belly that you described. Google it that will give you more information.
That is not a ratsnake or a racer. We do not have black ratsnakes in Florida. That is a mud snake. Farancia abacura. They are normal in the water or the mud and are not happy out of water.
Yes that is a rat snake. We had plenty of them come up to our home when we lived in Seminole Woods. One met an unfortunate demise by climbing into our air conditioner . I guess you can imagine it wasn't pretty what happened. We don't live in Florda anymore. Haven't encountered snakes like that since. Florida had bigger bugs, more snakes and alligators galore, not here. We settle for birds and gekos. :)
One more thing, I need to correct myself. That is a black racer. We call them rat snakes here. They move fast and see them race over our acreage in just seconds tio the road.
That is a Black Rat Snake. They are the most common snake in Southeast. NON-Venomous. I live near Atlanta and I see these all the time. They will bite the fuck out of you though.
I drove by that place just this afternoon and noticed that they were gone. Trailer and all. Maybe they left to go join the rest of the band. I just don't know. I hope they are okay, they were really nice people.
I happened to be in that area so I made the extra drive over to pick up the firewood. They have a big sign up on Hwy 46 and SR 426 that I saw a few weeks ago. So why not.
