hey lvlcap i have a question wouldnt it be easier to use IR in the gunner? i use it to locate enemy infantry who is hidden

It would be easier to locate hidden people like that , but the gunner in the chopper is already so powerfull it isn't necessary. What is necessary to a good helicopter team is that both pilot and gunner have flares or ecm and flares. If you don't you are just hurting the helicopter.

Good video, though you dont seem to aware of the fact that the gunners flares are bugged.

You must flare a sec before the enemy gets the lockon. This will make them start the locking again, in this time your pilot can use ecm again.

So you go pilot-ecm - gunner-flares pilot-ecm - cover - repeat

if you move the helo to the side it can even lead the heatseeking missile to a miss. Circle flying doesnt work though, you just need to move the helo 2m to the left or side and everything is fine

I suggest you dont start locking on to the helicopter right away like you do. I usually sneak up on them (if I know they dont see me) and fly low. I guess the Air Radar might help, but if i end up behind them it makes it easier to take them out, especially if your in the Viper instead of the Phat Ass Havoc. Happy flying!

LVLCAP just found out, if you stick a health pack to a chopper all the crew benefits from it, and it doesn't fall off. Ammo Pack on transport is especially good. Cause crew can launch stingers...etc.

To the people discussing ECM vs flares, ECM is better in almost all situations. It won't cause the missiles to stop chasing like flares, but as long as you are moving, the missiles will miss when they make final maneuvers to hit your chopper. In addition to functioning like flares, ECM gives you 5 seconds in which you can't be locked onto, loses laser designations, and recharges slightly faster. I always run ECM in my scout and attack choppers.

@omop413 He doesnt post videos when the other team has ace pilots ;) An ace jet would rain on their parade in a hurry. I'm decent gunner and have a very good pilot I team with and there's dick all you can do in a heli against a good jet.

Absolutly not. ECM helps you agains SOFLAM/Javelin CTV/Guided Shell.

Also, if you're playing with randoms chances are high that you double flare.

But if you're playing against noobs, Extingizer and Flares is the way to go!

Lol I just had the funniest thing happen. I was playing on Wake island and a jet shot me out of a jeep. So I said nice shot. His name was sounddJew. Another guy asked are you talking about me? @nakkimo Im a decent gunner i think. a Good tip for ppl who wanna fly, is to get in a empty server, and fly the choppers. it really helped me. I'm a pretty good pilot I think. (im on PC)

Also, gun for people and get good at it and you'll find good pilots wanting to fly with you. You can learn a lot as a passenger too.
