I would like to say there are many intelligent people who learn about sex early, and understand everything about it, but also understand the importance in choosing which age you wish to start, as well as the dangers and risks associated with sex, mentally and physically. As to your question on how I learned about sex, there seems to be two learning paths. One is the mechanics - she has periods and babies and you do this. But the real learning about sex is all the emotions with it. This part I only learned by trial an error. Read some articles and books about methods and options but feelings, not much but trial and error.

my parenz neva botherd to give me sex ed.i had to learn it on my own watching t.v, chat with frenz(only 1 or 2 occasions though) who were interested in such topic. I am talking about a time which was nearly 14 yrs ago.Parenz giving me sex ed would have been quicker for me to learn about human anatomy.learning from TV or frenz, it took considrable amount of beating around the bushes.my stupid biology teacher just skimmed through the sex ed pages with great hesitation that DOB ( rhymes with SOB).

I know about human reproduction from school when I was in junior high. Teacher mentioned about sperm transfered from male to female, and sperm comes from male genital, but I don't know how's technically the transfer. And then one of my friend told me a story about his masturbation, he told me how to rub penis, and then everything made sense... I knew technically how to transfer sperm since then.

That being said, why not allow a 12 year old to aide you in these videos? It IS your goal to target an audience that isn't 18 yet right?
If not; it would only make sense to have people learn about something unknown that the law limits to age, when they are still limited by age.

As to your question on how I learned about sex, there seems to be two learning paths. One is the mechanics - she has periods and babies and you do this. But the real learning about sex is all the emotions with it. This part I only learned by trial an error. Read some articles and books about methods and options but feelings, not much but trial and error.
Lovfe what you are trying to do. Want to check back in 10 yearson how to you educate your children.

@HyperSpify No, that's something that's still in the works. I'd want to make a lot of videos all at once and then slowly put them out. But we'll see. It's an awful lot of work, and I'm not sure how popular it would even be, but it's definitely worth a trial run.

I knew all about sex by the time I was 5-7 years old. Finding out that I was an adopted child pretty much spurred me on to finding out details about how I came to be. It's weird for a child that young to know about sex, I suppose, but I can remember wondering about it at that age. I put two and two together from movies and such, then read encyclopedias and figured out the rest. My parents never had "the talk" with me, they didn't need to.

Hmm I remember in 1st grade all the 5th graders watched "The Movie" as they called it. Of course they wouldn't tell us so as curious as we are we just waited. Then 5th grade comes around and we watched it. There was a lot of giggling and guys and girls were in separate classrooms. Something always interest me about sexuality, from the science aspect (also fellow stastics lover), the odd thing is that I was/am never been really comfortable about talking or thinking about personal sexuality, but the nerd in me is fascinated in it. I'd say I learned about sex one through the obvious, and two, where I really learned about it was just reading and personal interest about behavior. Not as much as other sci and philosophical subjects. Rock on fellow nerd.
