  • who needs drugs...i can get high by just listening to this song

  • Alot of wrong lyrics on this video: ...squander the ability to LIFT AN EYE to heaven...(Einstein Qoute) ...BENCHED ALONG with patience and reason... ...Chorus: CUT IT, DIVIDE IT ALL RIGHT IN TWO... Hard to hear exactly as Maynard has a way of not fully ennuciating his words. He says it more like "CUT I', DIVI' IT ALL RIGHT IN TWO" If that makes it any easier to understand.

  • Like Einstein said.. PARAPHRASING HERE the only excuse for this man god of bible invention is if "He" were dead.

This song is a muse in Dogma as I do not believe that Maynard/tool actually believes in this dogma. Just trying to reach you via dogma that surely inhabits a place in your poor little indoctrinated minds.

    We care :)

We know you are in Plato's cave and we want to help you up and out.

To where we do not know, anywhere besides the deep dark cold cave of superstition and fear.

  • It's clear that Maynard HATES you all so much. To me this song says "thanks for the hooker I got last night, got any weed? No? F&^% off." LOL

  • is this about geting over drugs detox bin thar sounds good bl

  • The correct lyrics are "Gotta divide it all right in two"

  • Great job just one correction. "Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an EYE to Heaven conscious of his fleeting time here"

  • @subtrefuge28 I think it's also "gotta divide it all right in two" instead of "cut it all right in two".

  • ke rola tan kabrona y chidaa¡¡¡¡ TOOL \,,/_

  • @nailsivanni Pasadísima de verga, wey. Una chingonada sublime.

  • gotta divide it all right in two

  • those silly monkeys

  • Epic

  • Pretty sure that the lyrics are "Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here." FYI.

  • Any thoughts on why its all cut in two, and not three or more? Perhaps male and female, Adam and Eve? Like God played a silly trick on us and all the angels are unisex, laughing at us and our battling hormones. This truely is the root from which all horrors are created.

  • Fight or they die. All for what? For their lives ending.

  • It's "You're all pieces of the ground" not "over pieces..." As in the the biblical account of man being created from dust.

  • @krisdavis3 Sorry dude, that is incorrect. He is referring to people killing each other for land.

  • @krisdavis3 actually it is over pieces, hes saying that were fighting over land, and its rediculious. this songs more about how our actions our effecting our society, and how we are misusing what we have been given.

  • are*

  • When I was a teenager I used to go outside on my trampoline and jump for an hour or two while listening to music. I got to be alone with my thoughts and got that nice work out high. I used to love going out when it was 20 degrees and getting my core temp up and staring up at the night sky. I would always save this song for last....it was my reward for a good work out. A few years later I ran in a Marathon....I saved this song for the last mile where I couldn't feel my legs. Love this song.

  • The drum beating Danny puts down is very apropos to this tune.

  • Maynard is a genius, simple as that

  • Thank God for Tool. The only modern medium with something to say. I hope the new recording is as insightful as this.

  • now that i have listened to tool i can not really go back and listen to my usual music again, i dont know, it feels whole

  • There was Dawn of War Dark Crusade video on video Google...i played while playing the game. Which had this song and some others included of awesomeness RTS Gameplay rape!

  • I'm pretty sure this is the best song ever.

  • @betterthandirt

    Nicely put

  • @betterthandirt i could not agree more..

  • @betterthandirt i'm guessing you never heard a little song called "Cesaro Summability" hmmmm?

  • I praise you for your accurate use of punctuation. :)

  • Also it's "gotta divide it all, right in two"

  • Xmas number 1 campaign anyone?

  • no its not benched its "blessed them all with reason" and lift an eye to heaven be conscious of his fleeting time here.

  • They are epic, a band like Tool only comes around every 20 years or so.

  • @tickyul Dude...ur so right bout that bro...special indeed

  • @tickyul No, a band like Tool only comes once, when Tool formed. But yes, they are epic, and as I look at them: as if epic philosophers decided to form a rock band, and use that to get the message out to humanity. Furthermore, this is probably the most important song/ piece of text ever written. Followed by Vicarious, Ænema, Forty six & 2, and Lateralus (I put those songs in that order for a reason seeing the meanings behind them; so from WTF humanity!? to "ride the spiral to our 'divinity' ").

  • @aa14giants Yes, you are right on..........I am an idiot.........I apologize. I listen to a playlist of songs......comparing Tool to the other songs is like comparing rocket science to Lego Logs. If you watch some of the Youtube videos that people have made to go along with the Tool songs, it just blows me away how complex and fascinating they are......hours upon hours of work to try and match the genius of the actual music. Prison Sex.....wow, does that tell a story.

  • @aa14giants I see Lateralus as telling us to spiral outwards away from ourselves. Basically open your mind to what could happen. This song is so amazing I can barely begin to decifer it. Vicarious is saying how sadistic humanity is, open to seeing violence yet not taking action. Ænema is telling me that our capitalist society will kill us. I see Tool as exactly the same way you do.

  • @XA55A55INX Exactly man. That's what makes TOOL so epic. They address all the dumb shit we do as a society, the violence and the distractions, but then offer spiritual help with songs like Lateralus and 46 & 2. I mean, their songs make me google stuff and actually research things - opening my mind to philosophies and... you know, actually learn things. So yeah, I'm with you on the awesomeness of Tool's songs.

  • Monkey killing monkey killing monkey

    Over pieces of the ground.

    Silly monkeys give them thumbs,

    They forge a blade,

    And where there's one

    they're bound to divide it,

    Right in two.

    Right in two.

  • It is a known fact that all these are completely wrong.. This song is about a $10.00 and bottle of wine bet, that Maynard couldn't right a song Using the word "monkey" more than 7 times.... Moet is p*ssed!

  • Cut it right all, right in two** Is the correct lyrics I believe.

  • @Unknowntruth84 Gotta divide it all, right in two**

  • @Jorritijzerlo Really? Could be hard to tell! Thanks :P

  • @Unknowntruth84 Yeah, took some time for me to find out aswell. :P You're welcome! =)

  • God made the Angels of Heaven and Hell with a dedicated existence. Their conviction cannot be altered. Mankind was created with the free will to choose. Angels and Demons are baffled and confused by any deviation of their own understanding of Gods will. The lyrics represent the lamentation of these Angels of light and darkness. They do not understand that the Creator of existence cut it all Right in Two to accommodate the being of free will that man Is. The song praises Mankind you fools.

  • @TERMICOBRA Religion, cut's humanity into sections and separates us from being one; a united race.

Hence "How they survive so misguided is a mystery." In the end, religion and superstitious beliefs will only contribute blood and death. It's an obscurity of truth and prevents people from actually looking around and choosing to think for themselves. It devolves man to the level of dumb beasts.

  • @AmericanMizfit "I would advise you, therefore, not to attempt unchaining the tiger, but to burn this piece before it is seen by any other person, whereby you will save yourself a great deal of mortification by the enemies it may raise against you, and perhaps a great deal of regret and repentance. If men are so wicked with religion, what would they be if without it?" Ben Franklin to Thomas Paine on Paines intolerance of religion. Check out Paine's -Age of Reason -

  • @TERMICOBRA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah....sure

  • best fuking song in the world!!!!!!

  • i think he says "cutting is all they know, right in two"

  • This song is very powerful. It explains what is going on in the world. Just like the song says Father gives us free will and this it what we choose. Pretty deep

  • 4:10 starts the genius of Danny.....beautiful!

  • @Tinkerbelly29 Right?! One of the best displays of his talent for sure, bleeping amazing!

  • guide my love right in two

  • Maynard is a true lyrical genius!!!

  • Roxanne Meadows is bitch divide people

  • @sylve6 No need for the name calling, just move forward.

  • a perfect theme song for the Zeitgeist Movement

  • @mattzena That is a worthy suggestion. It fills me with joy when I see a comment like that, because it confirms to me that like minded people gravitate towards the same mind set or ideology, often appreciating the same music, art, literature etc. You made my night. Cheers!!!

  • @gdkjones

    agree'd.

  • @mattzena you mean communist movement?

  • @ALWAYZARMED nothing like it. intelligent people will observe the vast differences.

  • @mattzena I'm pained to admit it but I don't know what Zeitgeist means. What does it mean?

  • @XA55A55INX it means spirit of the age.

  • @mattzena Yes, the Zeitgeist movement created further divison. 2,4,8,16...

  • @ShimmeringTruth1138 what is this zeitgeist

  • My favorite Tool Song =D

  • i <3 this song!

    '][' {[|]} {[|]} |[_ <3 (:

  • Extremely cool. Powerful, skilled, musical, very nice percussion too. My GAWD, this is so well played. Interesting sounds. Great band.

  • 4.01 zoned me out

  • I especially love it at 5:24 and 6:44.

  • man this song sucks weiner

  • Loaded the page and there were exactly 22,222 views. I'll add one!

  • @orphaeus99 That means only one thing - you're deaf. Check their live performances of this song, it's obvious.

  • Are you guys for real? It's not "cut it all right in two", and it's not "gotta divide it all right in two" either. He's saying "cut it all ALONG right in two". I mean, come on, isn't it obvious?

  • @Duhnot I don't hear an "along" on their at all.

  • i think its about stupid, stinkin ass, muslims.id bet money on it.

  • @green66vw Judging by your comment, the song is about you. Exercise your free will brother and add some value to the pot for future generations to remember you by. Your comment stinks of an ignorance and while you think it is cool, that type of anger and hatred leads to unimaginable torment for many.

  • @IAmJasonThomas i am excercising my free will,brother.

  • @green66vw You my friend, are the product of a failed education system. Freedom of speech/will is a responsibility as well as a right. Comments like that help no one. Sometimes I hate being part of the youtube community.

  • @green66vw It's about society. Everyone. For as long as we have known.

  • Oh my God . . . I think this is my new favorite song. It relates to so much that I've seen in the world.

  • Sorry but he says "Gotta divide it all right in two"

"gotta cut it all right... all right in two" just doesn't flow and doesn't even sound like what he's saying.

There are numerous other errors as well, but minor ones (a few lines that don't make sense grammatically due to an incorrect word and one line that was completely added in that he doesn't even say at all "overhead and light")

But all nitpicking aside, it's a well made video and an amazing song. I'm hitting LIKE.

  • I hear "Cutting it all right in two". And I hear what vremetal said.

  • you guys do realize that most maynards songs dont mean anything what it sounds like right... fuckin gullible people for all you know this song could be about kids working in a apolstry shop

  • @pinnick85 Or it could be about humanity's need for infighting and strife....

  • @pinnick85 Upholstery, but yea good point.

  • baffled and confused... it's baffled and confused. as for the rest, good job. it pays to double check though

  • i thought it said "bless them all with patience and reason" ?

  • My crush loves this song...!!! <3333 I do too! :)

  • I'm not too religious, but either way, humans split everything Right In Two.

  • It's "Lift an eye to heaven" and "Gotta divide it all right in Two"

  • @steveon1178 I hear: "cut it all right...all right in two"

  • It's not about religious fanaticism...it's about the alpha and the omega. The alpha and the omega, right in two. Will you step through the gates of Ishtar? I hope not.

  • Religious morons come to mind when I listen to this.

  • @blackcrow6667 I feel the same way. I really like the concept and lyrics of this song, but fanatics do come in my thoughts.

  • silly monkey homosapien fucks

  • This is the most definitive Tool song to me ever. It's this and 10,000 Days, Part 2. Great songs.

2)This is just me but when he says "Cut it all right in two" it also sounds like- Try to divide it all right in two.

    3) Good video kind sir! =P

  • @Gabberkingsed Maynard doesn't write all of this. Just saying.
