OK ...NUMBER ONE THING HERE IS FOR PEOPLE IN CANADA
KEEP YOUR CEMENT BELOW THE THE EARTH ABOUT 2-3 INCH BECAUSE OF THE FROST ....IT WILL FREEZE AND HEAVE THE POST
MAKE SURE TO TREAT THE POST WITH A GOOD PESTASIDE OR TAR AROUND THE AREA THAT WILL BE IN THE DIRT
AS FOR ALL THE EXTRA WORK SHE`S DOING ITS YOUR CALL JUST HOLD YOUR POST HAVE SOMEONE POUR THE CEMENT IN THE HOLE AND WATER THEN TAME THEM RELEVEL GO TO THE NEXT ... NO OFFECE BUT ITS DIFFERANT HERE IN CANADA
oh, and them stupid little post braces are worthless and a waste of time and material. the concrete will hold the post plumb.Ive been building fence for 11 years and have NEVER had a callback.
a REAL fence builder doesnt dry pour, we MIX the concrete. also if you are setting a post in a region that is susceptible to frost you want the concrete 3 - 4 inches below grade or the post will likely heave out of the ground from the ground expanding and contracting with the weather conditions. run your elevation string 12" off the ground.
treated wood still rots just not as fast..its much quicker to use a beaver and a lot better for you to mix it in a wheel barrow..doing it this way leaves room for error such as side pockets and concrete powder still in the holes because its not properly mixed and thats not how long it takes to set 1 post seeing is how I do probably 40 a day plus drive time..i would work 24 hours straight this way..but then again what do I know..i only do this for a living..oh yeah and the string line is too high
Ok everybody that made a mean comment on this video is just down right mean. She set that post exactly how its meant to be set. and that is about how long it takes to set one post. She was making sure that it was done right so that it would last, i guess you guys don't know the the quality of good hard work. And who ever the stupid person was that said even with out the concrete the wood is still going to rot, not if you use treated wood like this lady was using.
You can pour the concrete BEFORE mixing it. The moisture from the soil will ensure that all the concrete gets wet. I set up a 100 ft privacy fence doing that and it worked fine.
oh a 1/2 inch or an inch taller, amazingggggggggg....... whats that rot or deterioration you say? Your not fooling anyone sister we know your still on the meth........
LMAO I CLICKED ON THIS VIDEO BECAUSE IT'S SO FUNNY IT ACTUALLY EXISTS! I MEAN HOW TO INSTALL A PICKET FENCE ON YOUTUBE ROFLMFAO

I'm guessing she has--and I'm also guessing she could spell it, having attended both first and second grades. How were things in the short bus?
