iv had both.. and im telling you all now that the R1 is noticeably faster than the r6. you can see this on the straights.. just restricted by the track. the R6 was giving it everything and breaking very late to keep up. great riding by both guys.
@cowboyzed Yes, you´re right. I drive the R1 and I´ve also tested the R6. The R1 is much more Powerful. To be fast with the R6, you must always drive between 12.000-17.000 1/min
iv had both.. and im telling you all now that the R1 is noticeably faster than the r6. you can see this on the straights.. just restricted by the track.
@myhomie94 On a track like this, no not much faster because the liter can't really stretch out its legs. But if were talking overall which is faster, liter with no contest. The liter's really shine above 100mph, where as they will keep accelerating pretty violently, while the 600 starts to run out of steam. This video, I bet the liter bike never once was WOT. Where the 600 was getting completely raped to keep up.
The sound of the R6 is truly orgasmic especially during the gear shifts,it's the best sounding machine in the world like F1 cars . Definitely going to buy one.
great riding on the r6 though... it was keeping up with the r1, and takes alot of skills, cant believe how fast he was over taking everyone on the 600... makes me want an r6 again :D
the r6 would be faster in the corners. R1 for the straights... R6 guy can ride... that percentage who can actually ride a 600 to its potential... Sick!
@jwollman34 you're trippin if you think the R1 redlines at 16kish rpms. it's onboard the r6/that guy can FUCKING ride! the r1 pulls away on the straights, undertail exhaust. it's obvious.
I dont know who is the betther rider, bute the r6 must be, or is not so a big different between r1 and r6? I mean, r6 is a 600 and r1 a bigger one sure but.... they r almost equal
i have 2 bikes one with and one without and i have to say there is an element of no slipper clutch that makes it more fun . makes you feel you can really drive a bike . and i can downshift exactly the same with no slipper clutch. its called using your brain and wrist . yea you have to ounch it going from 3 rd to second but whatever . i think they should not be allowed touse them in racing . they should make it as hard as possible while still within reason .
and whatever if you live in the bush then pound ass man . i have done 177 -180 or so in the rain on my desmo . go for it .
and i was not on the highway . one lane each direction . if you not comfortable dont do it but it can be done and not scary .
but i have never scraped knee on a public road . i do go to the track and can there .i have scraped my elevated harris footpeg actually but on public road hard , almost but not quite . i puss out . i worry about about animals. i hit a moose once ...
ernie, if u feel the need to run a bike this hard on the street ur a retard...and without that slipper clutch go ahead and downshift that hard...good luck
Makes me want to get a slipper clutch. For those asking weather or not to get an R1 or R6 for a first bike.. R6 will do most everything an R1 can do, but the R6 is more forgiving and you can hit the throttle harder comming out of corners. All bikes will punish the stupid so buy 1 at your own risk.
SS in general are not good starter bikes period becaues they tend to make the rider want to speed becaues its so easy and also because they are far different in terms of control than others. as far as power, the r6 or any 600 SS provides more than enough power to live with. Mine still beats me up...lol. plus its more fun to push a 600 where as a 1k u would have to be very careful otherwise u are gonna loose it. If u never ridden a bike before and u jump on any SS that is just asking for trouble.
You have to have a LOT OF SELF CONTROL. Not gasing it or seein what its got is like trying to quit smoking after 10 years cold turkey for no reason. (There are 1 or 2 people that have done it, but thats out of a million). I would say a perfect starter bike would be a $500 or less bike. Learn the controls, learn how to ride. I hate hearing about people that buy bikes (crotch rockets are the biggest offenders) but new people like to do speeds of up over a 100 and slam a wall...
Fear is wut helped me start on an SS. the fact that i knew it had so much power and was capable of killing me was the reason why i was able to start on a 600 and keep self control. Sorta like the saying "respect the bike." the way i see it, better to start on something u are gonna keep for a long time, but that isnt always a good idea. You are right though, start out on a cheap 500 dollar bike and trash it then when u get better, u can consider other bikes. ALSO take the MSF COURSE!
those words can only come from a true squid. Slipper clutch will help u corner faster and let u get on the throttle earlier and brake harder.... yeah ride as good as u want without the slipper but u aint gonna beat someone with a slipper that is good.
means u should stay slow until u learn how to correctly ride the bike. you are a noob, you are slow anyways. You just think u are fast. hang out with older guys that have been riding for years that are mature and are not stupid. you will learn better from them. dont hang with toolbags.
Jsut remember though, when u are having fun on the back twisties, go hard on the corners but dont speed like an idiot on the straights. take that to the track. I love the CBR, great bike and responsive as well.
"I can't say I'm fast" but then you say "I would be if I did" you contradicted yourself, you just couldn't resist tooting your own horn. you have no idea how fast you are until you actually go out and do it, chances are with your ego you won't learn shit either. good luck, keep your brain "farts" to yourself so other people don't have to smell all the shit that comes out of your mouth
the only reason you don't like slipper clutches is because you couldn't afford a new enough bike that is fitted with them, nor have you probably ever ridden a bike with a slipper clutch, otherwise you would love them because its one less thing to worry about while riding on the track so that you can focus on the things that make you a better rider like decreased braking distance and corner speed
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I could get a bike with one if i needed but whats the point, i bought a cbr600 that has 100hp for $4000, why pay double the price for a newer bike with a slipper clutch, i dont even need one.
And about the thing saying how fast i was, everything i do in life i'm exceptionally good at, one of the best. So yes whatever i attempt, i will kick ass at it, so there's no doubt that i wouldn't be fast on the track.
erniethefart..... driving bike whit not abs ??? that a bit mad to be honest....just try it out whit a bisickel ...block the front wheal and u will see blocking your front wheel on a bike doing 200-250 km/h ....u dead
you brake with two fingers- pointer and middle finger.
As you're braking you use your other fingers (ring, pinky, and thumb) to twist the throttle quickly, downshift, and then do it again to the desired gear (using engine braking in-between downshifts)
nice riding by both its interesting to see the r1 only really comes alive down the straights otherwise if it were a bit more twisty track the r6 would top it no doubt.
