  • I'm glad CNN is highlighting Afro-Latinos. According to the CIA worldfact book most of the Afro-descendants in Colombia identify as mulatto(14%). Is their ever any conflict between them and those who see themselves as mono-racial blacks(4%)?

  • @GGLebo23 Actually, MORE than 30% of Colombia is AFRO COLOMBIAN. ^

  • Peace and blessings to Palenque!!!

  • Interesting video!

  • we can`t lose it DIaspora

  • dios gracias por dejarme ser colombiano ,,palenque de san basilio el primero pueblo libre de america ...quiero girtarlo lo voy a hacer viva palenque viva pambeleeeeeeeee

  • Its quite evident when you bring people against their will to a different continent and enslave them for 200+ years this is what happens, its impossible to get out of poverty.

  • Peruanista excuse me but our black people are latin american they are african descendants but as they are born in Colombia they are colombians and should have the same rights as all other Colombians, there is a lot of racism in my country but there is also a lot of people like me and my father who has fought for the equal rights of all colombians. what we want and what we need is a united latin america no matter race, ethnicity or culture Viva america unida en paz / justice and equality

  • @juanchissi,

I am not surprised by the comment of Peruanista.

Most Peruvians are self-hating anyway. They want to be White so badly. Why do you think that White people whom are not fat, have blond hair & blue eyes are worshipped there and that White folkx rave how good Perú is. Bolivian indigenos have more pride of being Brown than Peruvian indigenos. Qué sustó y despistados-confundidos de Peruanos que son sin ninguna duda! Besides, look at how most Afro Peru culture has decimated.

  • Wait, what did Peruanista say ?

  • when you said negra she probably thought that you was offending her, by the way you said it. just like if someone said: I was finally happy to have a una china or un spic for my latin american teacher, I can see that the person would get offended, you should of address her by her name next time. I like your videos!

  • This comment is in response to whose?

  • THE SELF-DENIAL SEEMS TO BE PROBLEMIC WITH AFRO-LATINAS !, MORE THAN WITH AFRO-MALES...

But afro-latinos have come a long way.

    their is hope......

    BLACK POWER !!!

  • People have a misconception that Hispanics are light-skinned, and they don't know that Spanish-speaking blacks exist. I know because I'm Afro-Latino. Great Video.

  • I love Black Colombians! they are very special to me because they're the people of my country. I'm a white Colombian from the capital. We can learn a lot from black Colombians. They may be poor but their beautiful humanity will make you humble. Once they become your friend, is for ever!

  • Black people are suffering everywhere! Something has to be done. The philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey.

  • Yeah..all of my people are going through the same ish just different toilet!

  • Yeah Baby Afro Latino Viva Do Brasil y Cuba Libre

  • Colombia negra, Colombia india, Colombia mestiza, Colombia divina.

  • Se te olvido Colombia Blanca y Colombia Asiatica.

  • great video, i'm sick of seeing blacks in latin american saying their latino/hispanic & denying their ancestors came from africa.

  • Young i agree these people are fantastic and they can speak spanish to. i have a friend from Ecuador who loves the soccer team, well this other guy looked at the soccer poster and said they were black and I am like you dummy Africans are everywhere even in Latin America stupid.

  • Yes, They're Black Ecuadorians too

  • isn't their president part black?

  • Yeah. His dad was half indian and half black, so he's about a quarter. I think his mom had a mix to.

  • alot of americans are have the misconception that the only afro-latinos come from the dominican republic, but the reality is there are blacks from mexico all the way to argentina.

  • RIGHT ON YoungJ3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u can't take it personal. equate "denying their ancestors came from africa to"..."denying they are the least respect people in the world"...cuz das da white supremacist paradigm that they're mentally enslaved by...overstand their mentality...but don't take it personal...

sublimate that e-motional (energy-in-motion) energy of anger and apply it towards learning how 2 rhetorically neutralize this mental slavery imrisoning our brothers and sisters WORLDWIDE...ya dig?

  • A-Fucking-Men! When I was in high school, we had a black spanish teacher from Panama. When I told her how happy I was finally to have "una negra" from latin america as a teacher, she flipped out and totally denied that she was African.

"I'm not Black, I'm hispanic"...those were her very words. The bitch was black as coal too! I mean, who the hell is she trying to fool!? lol

  • She's ignorant for saying that because she knows her only identity back in Panama was afro/black and she's probably been referred to as negra her whole life.

  • nice and interesting.........
