  • thats humungas

  • @TheAutown He's only 3 years old now and at ten feet in length and this video was a year ago so he's much larger now. They seldom exceed eleven feet normally.

  • I love the way chewy looks when he stretches his neck up to check out the surroundings :)!

  • @lololinguine Thank you !! Oddly enough he spends about ninety percent of his time standing when he's outdoors close to me or close to someone else. He's such a poser and loves the camera LOL Actually he is just a little bit spoiled :O) Even my young juvenile female Coastal Carpet, Jade is already doing this in the house and it's so darn funny because she loses her balance and tips over sometimes then looks at me like I did it to her.

  • He wants to go in the tall grass so badly haha

  • @xXxbwelitexXx LOL Yeah he does but oddly enough they won't go too far away from me because outdoors they have become dependent on my presence. Not to mention they know I will follow them and they don't end up getting far from me :O)

  • @1softkiss That's fantastic my bearded dragon is almost the same way. I actually just had him out on the floor with me while I was eating a banana(post workout nutrition lol) and he was running around but never gets too far without looking at me then he proceeded to crawl on my lap and start eating my damn banana out of my hand. I love him to death, I can't wait on getting a ball python after basic training. :]

  • @xXxbwelitexXx That had to be totally precious I'd love to have seen that. And people have doubts about reptiles bonding with their handlers and that's the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard. People have NO idea what a wonderful relationship they are missing out on for sure. You will do fine with a Ball Python because you already know how to and understand the bonding process :O)

  • @1softkiss I've owned a bearded dragon before this one and two iguanas, they ALWAYS have a bond to the person who loves them the most.

Some of my absolute favorite moments was giving blake(the beardie I have now) his first pinky. Oh the joy on his face with a smile that could pierce the atmosphere.

I think most people make the non-bonding assumption because one, they've never owned one, or two are afraid of them. Sure they look mean, I mean hell mine has spikes all over it's body

  • @xXxbwelitexXx I had to laugh when I read this comment because I know exactly what you mean about people being oblivious to how wonderful these animals really are. It's like beating your head against a brick wall trying to educate the ignorant most of the time. Even snakes will pout and turn their back on you and if you scold them they will retreat and hide their head in the corner. Now, how do people figure these animals have no bond nor don't respond is beyond me. 50 years of raising snakes !

  • @1softkiss but he's lovable none the less. He's also great around other people but only lets me hold him. He loves to lick he'll be siting in my palm and just licking at my fingers, reminds me of a chameleon. I just wish people were more open/casting away fears of these 'demons'. My grandma even loves him she won't touch him be she loves spoiling him with a pinky every month(she also has two oscars solely because she loves how ugly they are).

  • @xXxbwelitexXx I've had more people come to my house that were terrified of snakes and now after watching me handle them their children own snakes and the parents actually have their own snakes and are doing a great job of raising them and educating other people. My Mother's great fear of snakes was how my love, passion and respect for them developed and to this day she doesn't even want to hear about them. LOL I really feel exposure is the best form of education there is for people with fears.

  • @1softkiss She's still afraid even after you raising these beautiful creatures?! Has she seen your videos lol? My mom pet blake for the first time today I had him out on my lap since she was scarred for life and spike(my original beardie) got lose one day and while she was sitting on the couch it climbed up the back and sat on her head lol she screamed for me to get it off. I told her to hold him today but he stood on her then ran to me lol. I believe the whole fear sensing theory.

  • @xXxbwelitexXx Oh Yeah !!! Big Time. LOL I was raised down south and we had a concrete goldfish pond with a water fountain in the middle on an acre of land and it was surrounded by lily pads and always full of snakes. I went back home two summers ago and she wouldn't even watch my videos on my cell phone. I think it's just denial but as a child some boys hiding in the grass tossed a snake at her on her way home and it landed on her feet so she's always had that fear.

  • @1softkiss That's really sad to think of! I would think since her daughter is so involved and loving towards them she'd atleast open up. My next achievement is getting my grandma to pet my beardie lol. I tried getting her to last time and she ran up the stairs saying oh no he'd bite me, and then I kissed him on the nose and said see? he doesn't even care lol.

  • @xXxbwelitexXx You know what really gets me? People don't think twice about getting in a car behind a steering wheel and driving and most accidents and deaths are caused by other drivers. And yet, people fear the bite from a reptile/ Sort of strange to me, but perhaps that's just me because I think people place their fears in things less likely to mame or kill than the most obvious of all things.

  • like the warm skin

  • @Macovic Yes they do and especially when it's real hot out the skin feels cooler to them than the air so they also use it to cool down depending on the air temperature.

  • love this vidio what a sweet snake just be carefull though you dont want him catching parasites out there

  • @relstacat 50 years of raising snakes, have never had it happen :O) My snakes have their own pool outdoors and get a nice warm soak before they come back indoors so I can check them over. I don't allow them near trees or tall grass and my snakes are outdoors all spring and summer.

  • @relstacat Thank you for the nice compliment on the video I really appreciate it !!!

  • this is so ahdorable love it

  • @foxie992 Thank you :O) They are just like little children if handled daily and always worked with and contrary to popular belief they will follow me around the yard. They have to always be close to me or touching me.

  • I love watching those Snakebytes TV videos. Do you live in the same town (or city) with Brian and Lori and is that where you've gotten most of your snakes? I saw some of those in a video someone took of their visit to BHB and Brian was explaining to the people that they go for about $1,000. The ones he picked up out of this big tub held themselves stiff in the air with about half the length of their body extended straight outward! Speaking of Snakebytes, the human Chewy is a real character!

  • @IAMGiftbearer Brian, Lori and Chewy are old friends of mine that I actually met online before they made Snakebytes when they were first on myspace. I had plans to go visit this past summer but Brian travels a lot so hopefully going up this spring or summer. My snake Chewy, is actually named after Doctor Chewy and my new female Coastal I got as a baby also came from BHB Reptiles and she is named after Brian and Lori's daughter, Jade. They live about 7 hours away from me up north.

  • @IAMGiftbearer All of my snakes came from breeders with the exception of the rescued Ball Pythons, but only my two Coastal Carpet Pythons came from BHBReptiles.

  • That is a beautiful snake and it's really neat how he makes eye contact with you! Funny that you named him "Chewy" and it came from BHB.

  • @IAMGiftbearer Chewy is named after Doctor Chewy from BHB and my newest addition, Jade my female Coastal juvenile is named after Brian and Lori's daughter :O) I've been good friends with them before they started the SnakeBytes youtube channel. Chewy is currently 10 feet long now and a big sweetheart never has bit anyone or attempted to :O) Thank you for the nice comment and compliment on Chewy !!

  • 1softkiss I will subscribe and check out the vids. You even have some large boas! That's really cool. So the snakes that wait to get outside to go to the bathroom is a learned behavior, that is intresting. I have heard things like this before. What was it that got you interested in snakes? Was it something from childhood? For me it was a love of dinosaurs when I was a child led to catching garter snakes then to keeping reptiles as a teen and now.

  • @gainer2420 I was raised in the south and our yard was always plentiful with snakes because we had a concrete goldfish pool with a water fountain and it was always surrounded by lily pads and the snakes loved hiding in there and eating. I mowed the yard all the time and my Mother has always been terrified of snakes and when she saw one my Dad would grab a hoe and chop it up and it always disturbed me.

  • @gainer2420 At the age of 14 I was mowing one day and nicked a small snake with the mower and felt bad so collected it and sneaked it into the house and nurtured it back to health and it was a Water Moccasin. I got sick of my Dad killing the snakes so I started collecting them and taking them out into the woods and releasing them and have raised snakes since then and to this day my Mother is still terrified of snakes. Thank you for sharing that with me I love hearing about others experiences!!

  • @1softkiss it's awesome to a woman with snakes. Carpets are my favorite, they have a certain beauty to them. Is this a Bredili or coastal carpet?

  • @gainer2420 Ahhhh Thank you sincerely :O) I've raised snakes for 50 years and have always adored them but I personally prefer my large constrictors. Chewy is a 3 year old male Coastal that came from BHB Reptiles and my new video shows my new female juvenile I'm raising to someday breed with Chewy. He's awesome and never struck at anyone. Best temperaments and excellent snakes !!! I'm hooked on them for life :O)

  • @gainer2420 I actually have 3 snakes that will pace and bug out to get out of their enclosures to excrete waste and Chewy is always like that. He really freaks out if he has to go in his enclosure because he got used to going outdoors since he spends more time outside in the spring and summer than he does in the house. Toilet trained? Definitely LOL

  • i love people that own big snakes that are gental and just real sweethearts i hate how people give them a bad reputation as being mean and crazy animals. i must say well done your snakes are gorgeous

  • @redtailboaroom Thank you sincerely :O) They are greatly loved and respected and a vital part of my life and my family !!

  • awesome vids

  • @hetfeildfan Thank you sincerely :O) Snakes are awesome !!!

  • awwww i like this video!! :)

  • @cc262009 Thank you I'm glad you liked it :O) My snakes are big babies and love being with people !!

  • HE'S GOURGOUS

  • @1234567891011kyle Thank you sincerely :O) I appreciate the comment and compliment on Chewy. He's never taken a strike at anyone and is a total sweetheart !! Actually will be 3 years the beginning of September I've had him.

  • @1softkiss cool me and my dad are talking about geting me a snake a darwin python do they grow very big

  • @1234567891011kyle Darwin's are gorgeous Carpet Pythons and can grow as large as a Coastal but not usually. Regardless Carpet Pythons may get long but they are still very easy to handle and work with because they are sleek and don't have a lot of thickness like a Boa does. They can give some pretty strong snake hugs but if handled a lot they are no threat to anyone.

  • @1softkiss thanks for the help :)

  • @1234567891011kyle No problem glad I could offer some advice :O)

  • Do you ever worry about bugs like ants getting on him and biting him? I really want to let my pythons outside but I've been told that it's dangerous for them :(

  • @sixxuglykingdom No I've been taking snakes outdoors for 49 years and never got mites or had any insects bite my snakes. For one their skin is quite tough and any insect would have to sit there and bite for a really long period of time to hurt a snake. Snakes get bit up all the time in the wild and they survive. Mine each get a warm soak in water outdoors after they've been in the yard and I don't allow them in loose dirt or on trees.

  • @hamersmashface30 No matter how many snakes any person has we all started with our first snake so we all had to learn just as anyone new in the hobby has to learn from raising their first snake. We learned through our own experiences with these wonderful creatures and now there are many, many people always willing to help others as I do constantly. Snakes are not mean nor aggressive they only strike to eat and to defend themselves. :O)

  • So cute...so cute. Love the snake, makes me want one more now. :P

How intimate, how awesome! I think he sees you as his mom. :) Just like a child. SO CUTE! I was like "Aww" :)

  • @elimae1988 Thank you :O) Chewy is very dependent upon me outdoors to always be near me or touching me and he stands like a bodyguard with me and never moves anything except his head. Looks like a periscope LOL Chewy is a real sweetheart and greatly loved and he will go to anyone if they want to hold him.

  • @1softkiss I so have to come visit you to see your snakes :) I just came back to this video and still love how Chewy interacts. VERY smart snake. Shared on my Facebook!

  • @elimae1988 I proudly welcome guest to meet my snakes :O) I have some school and church groups that bring their children occasionally to learn more about snakes and Chewy is always willing to set a perfect example for anyone, especially the ladies :O) He's a bit of a Momma's boy LOL

  • @elimae1988 Wish I was there to hold him :( I wanna play with Chewy so badly, he looks so beautiful!

  • I love your videos! They are alway so informative and educational. I wish everyone could see snakes the way we do in our hobby. They are intelligent and magnificent creatures. Funny thing is, I never used to be a snake person until I had my first snake that was a garter snake. I then fell deeply in love with ball pythons and currently own a ball python. I now love lizards too, lol! Can't wait to get a blue tongue skink.

  • @cstoudt1973 Thank you from my heart !!! I just try to show people reptiles (especially snakes) aren't these horrible mean creatures people lead the uneducated to believe they are. They are great companions and wonderful to learn from. Too bad humanity can't learn from reptiles the world would be a much nicer place to exist in. They are a lot like the Lay's potato c hip add, no such thing as just one HAHAHA

  • Chewy is really cute! I think it has something to do with the python face shape. There was that one photo where he was curled up in your lap and looking up at his "mom". My husband lets me have whatever type of snake I want, except for venomous ones. We decided to get an albino burmese when the kids get older, since they are so large. How strong is Chewy, since he is getting to be a good size?

  • @VegetaDaimoh Thank you a lot :O) Chewy is a sweetheart for sure never a bad day with him. I actually just measured him and he's right at nine feet right now and just turned two years old right before the expo in Daytona. He's extremely strong and can carelessly turn my hands and forearms dark red/blue just hanging out with me. He's easy to release though and it's never done out of aggression just to insure his own safety and grip. Burmese are awesome their feeding aggression is intense.

  • chewy is lovely.. how old is he?

  • @tommo0383 Thank you sincerely :O) Actually he just turned two years of age. Brian shipped him out to me right before the Daytona Expo year before this so it's easy to keep up with his age. LOL

  • @1softkiss Braian Barczyk? is that why its called chewy? lol

  • @tommo0383 Yeah, I'm old friends of Brian and Lori and the Crew since before SnakeBytes. They are awesome and he's the best as a breeder and a friend !!!! Chewy is named after Dr. Chewy :O)

  • Chewy has the hershey squirts XD

Don't know how many time I have been chilling in my snake room and heard that same noise. hahaha priceless!

  • @DraoiSidhe The guy urinates more than an adult man does every time he takes a poo. It's kind of funny cause my Argentines bury their heads in the soak tray and fill their mouth with water and blast it out their nostrils and it sounds just like a big snake taking a huge wet dump and anyone in my house thinks it's gross til i tell them look at them and you will see they are clearing their nostrils. The expression on Chewy's face was truly priceless LOL

  • @1softkiss That's be adorable to watch then clean out their nostrils like thst haha. Argentines are so smart!

  • @DraoiSidhe They definitely are totally aware of everything and their response to stimuli is amazing. More research really needs to be done on snakes.

  • Lol that was too cute.

  • @z0mbiiFiles Thank you it was so funny to see the expression on his face while he was doing his thing LOL

  • He is soo cute how long and old is he?!

  • @Ratsnake151 Chewy is almost seven feet long now and thank you :O)

  • Sweet Video Carla,Chewy Is Looking So Good,Very Calm,Being With Mama,Nice Seeing Him Outdoors~Thumbs Up~

  • @gerijuana Thank you seriously Gerry :O) Chewy is just about a mamas boy isn't he? hehehe

  • lol my carpet python does small craps lol but oh well better get a spade ready for when she is an adult looool.

  • @pagan140 LOL Yeah, Chewy can leave a big ole' pile at his age and size. Can't wait to see him at ten feet. Gonna have to carry around a doggy scooper and a zip lock bag.

  • I Love Him Puting His Head Up. He Is very Nice :-) Good Video!!!

  • @lakaboo86 Thank you :O) He really spends more time standing up than he does on the ground. I still say he thinks he's a Cobra LOL

  • Hey, at least he didn't go ON you. That's what my boa, Clive, prefers to do. And Jasper seems to find pleasure farting on me. I still think Chewy has identity issues. You're going to have to tell him that he's not a cobra. ;) I love it when he does that though. It doesn't appear to be something my boas do, but my BPs and milks do it and it's so neat to watch.

  • @beckyls81 Chewy is oddly enough very well mannered. If he's out on my bed and has to go he will hold his lower body off the edge of the bed and never makes a mess on me or the bed. I think he takes after me LOL I'm so anal retentive about cleanliness and keeping things in order. :O) Even the Argentines won't use the bathroom on the top level that they rest on and always use the bottom level. Snakes aren't stupid by no means.

  • @beckyls81 We have an extremely long driveway out back to the garage and last summer for the heck of it I had both the Argentines out and set them down in the driveway near my house and I went all the way out back and sat in front of the garage. It took Nosey and Grumpy over an hour to go up the driveway and they found me, came right up to me and laid their heads on my lap and stayed there. They do depend on us as their handlers and are totally aware when we are around or not.

  • @1softkiss Narcissa is like that too. When we're outside, she wants to be on me. It was hard to take the pictures of her on the swing and on the fence because she kept trying to come to me. Jasper is a different story though. He's all ready to explore and climb trees. I like your big boas. :) I think they're my favorite out of what I've seen of yours.

  • @beckyls81 Thank you SO much :O) I will be taking the big Argentines outdoors in the yard a few times this summer but the conditions have to be perfect because of their size. I don't want them to get overheated or exhausted out in the high heat and humidity. I don't have one snake that will have anything to do with a tree. They would rather wrap and hang around me instead LOL As for taking pictures? AMENI !! It's difficuly when they are always in your face or wanting to take the camera away.

  • @1softkiss I definitely can't wait to see the big kids outside! They're so cool. If I ever end up with a man who loves snakes like I do, I'm getting one for sure! I just don't think I should have a snake that big when it's just me. There's no way I could manage a big Burm, retic, or boa by myself. I'm weak and couldn't lift them. If something happened, I'd be screwed. My boa, Lucy, is showing signs that she'll be a monster size when she grows up. I hope I can manage her.

  • @beckyls81 I get help from the guys out back at our garage. I just run up and motion to come with me and say I need assistance!" It usually takes 3 adults to carry one outside and the toughest part is getting them to come out of their house. Once out they are very mellow but too big for one or two to handle and I always have the front end. Very wise choice on your part. I trust mine as far as me handling them goes, but they are still snakes and have many different moods so ya just never know.

  • @beckyls81 As odd as it may seem even my huge Boas will periscope outdoors in their enclosure and stand four feet straight up in the air and hold themselves there. My Carpet and Ball Pythons do it all the time but it's not so common with Boas because of their girth and mass weight but it does happen. :O)

  • aw that's to cute!! :) your snakes really love to be around you huh :P adorable :)

  • @BrittanyNicole1990 and i love how he put his head up and was looking around. deff faved this. love this video!!

  • @BrittanyNicole1990 I really appreciate the nice comment and kind words :O) That's SO cool that you added Chewy to your favorites and I truly appreciate it. I just HAD to make this video I still laugh watching it and wish I could have caught the look on his face when he did his thing in the grass it was totally adorable. LOL

  • @BrittanyNicole1990 Yeah, I'm a very proud momma :O) Thank you SO much they are amazing. Even my big Argentines try to pile up on my lap outdoors and they don't fit very well. LOL After this storm front goes through here over the next few days the Argentines will be outdoors in the grass.

  • @BrittanyNicole1990 Chewy is always out even in my house. When I'm cleaning I go all over with him around my shoulders or waist and he's really cool just looks around, but I have to be sure his neck isn't extended so I don't bump his head on anything in my path while I'm walking with him. LOL He's so great!!!

  • @1softkiss aww :) your snakes are awesome :)

  • @BrittanyNicole1990 Thank you sincerely!!!!! I really appreciate the wonderful sentiment!!! :O)
