After building a dell xps 8300 and then building the hp h8xt, I find that the hp h8xt is more premium than dell, I can configure an extra 1 terabyte hard drive along with the 2 terabyte hard drive that's already in the computer, I can hardly wait for that income tax cheque.
hey I just ordered almost the same exact PC from Costco. The only differences in mine is i have 16gb of ram, 320 gb sata ssd raid 0, and added Bluetooth. I just wanted to ask you from your experience is the 600W power supply enough to handle this computer at stock speeds, (no overclocking whatsoever) or no?
@hsagc Wow. Nice amount of Ram and a good SSD. The 600w can handle this computer as it is. Overclocking might make a difference. How much did your whole PC cost you?
@SimranPCh33ma thanks for the quick response, but, yes, the PSU was one thing that was worrying me about this computer. The total cost with all the bells and whistles was a pricey $2,800. (you can thank the ssd and gpu skyrocketing the price for me.)
yes, it is a very pricey computer :/, but the last desktop I bought was a sony vaio in 1999 (so I had been planning for a major upgrade for a while). I have a younger brother who will definitely use this PC for gaming, and I'll be mainly using if for video encoding and decoding, editing videos and pictures, and large file transfers from hard drive to hard drive (thats why I opted in for the ssd). I usually take forever upgrading on technology so I usually buy top of the line when finally do.
Well good to see those specs work with the computer. My dad is probably going to get me one of these, but a base model. I already have a 430w psu and an HD 6850, I was just worried about being able to fit it in. My 4 year old HP I use currently with those parts.. I had to bend some things which I didn't want to bend.
@SWAT2291 Thanks. This is a good computer but i had to upgrade mine because im a small time editor and was gonna expand my knowledge and needed a computer that can haddle my work. Im only worrying about your 430w psu, it will run your computer but not to its full potential. It also has some space to move thing around so you can probally fit your card in there.
very nice pc dude congratz :) HP are usually good.
i have an Elite too but mines a 2009 model with an i7 860 45nm first generation, i wanted to upgrade like the one you bought but im waiting for Ivy Bridge 22nm and maybe Windows 8.
@DeathShallRise That is a very good plan. Also no I didnt think that the bluetooth was necessary but it was cheap so you can install it upon your if you like. :)
