@NikeFox47 I don't think there are any Dagorhir realms outside of the United States (maybe Canada). You may have to look into Perth or Shades.

@TheMouselink You have to find a group that fights near you, but if you message me i can send you the dates of a few events. but every practice isn't like this, this is an event. but if you want to start with dag, be prepared to 1: get the shit beat out of you. 2: make or buy weapons. and 3: TRAVEL! events are ALL OVER the country!

I'm actually warmin' up to their weapon system. I play Amtgard, which is pretty much this, but bring it down like, 10 notches. Sigh, I wish I could shield bash so badly. But I'm stuck with tag on a stick >:P

@Iron0Phoenix Pretty much. In fact, I think I heard that those games, like Amtgard and Belegarth, are essentially spinoffs of Dag. I've looked at them and essentialy, the rules are the same. Its just a few little trivial things.

The primary difference between combat in LARP and Dagorhir (as well as Belegarth, which is mostly the same) is that in Dag/Bel, we fight full force, no pulling swings. LARP combat is very tappy, and is, in essence, a glorified game of tag. That's the reason our weapons are less realistic. If a hit couldn't kill you with a real weapon, you don't take it.

@tattooloo Actually that is quite exactly what the Romans do. That's where most of the yellow javellins on any battlefield come from. They advance in their formation, and first thing they do is throw their mass of pilums to soften up the enemy ranks, then procede to go in with their gladius swords and chop everything up. They do really have a reputation for doing well on the battlefield and I think it's because of training/tactics. Only bad thing is they can be thrown back at them.

1. We also do roleplay what they most of there time do is epic battle (and weapons you buy look better whats make it more realistic)

2. Latex , foam , spray ,just normal but we make weapons that look better :)

"Fighters of age 15 and up may compete in the battle. Fighters ages 15 through 17 MUST present a signed and notarized Dagorhir Waiver at the Troll Booth upon entry or will NOT be admitted. Waivers for minors must be notarized or they will not be accepted. All persons of legal age must sign both waivers at the Troll Booth."

you have to be at least 16-17 to fight in the battles, but you still need a form signed by your guardians and notorized by a bank or somehwere... idk.

But once your past 18, you can sign it yourself.

Yeah this is really amazing, there are realms in almost any city with 20k+ people in it, and the event they covered is not the usual size of people, most groups/units only have like 20 people who come to a practice or something, this had like 400. There are several events where HUGE numbers get together accross the country.

Dagorhir and Belegarth are both fairly similar games - Depending on your location, you might be able to find one or the other or both games.

There is also a game called Amtgard (Not sure if I spelled that right) which is similar, but they don't hit as hard (Weapons are less padded, lightweight).
