Arkin was robbed when he didn't get the Oscar for "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" in '68 and he won for "Sunshine" as a make-good for a career of good performances, Too bad he played such a foul-mouthed, grotesque character in LMS, an over-hyped sour, unfunny movie.
@dumont1957 I love Alan Arkin and he was very good in Heart is.., but I would have given the 68 Oscar to Peter O'Toole. Can we at least agree that no way should Cliff Robertson have won it?
lol thats the exact reason I am watching this. I couldnt rememebr what his voice sounded like and wanted to see if Kevin Pollak did it well. He did it was pretty funny.
I loooove his voice ^_^ He would do so well with voiceovers....

Adorable... Just an adorable seasoned actor. Alan seems so cool. Adam, his son, gets on my nerves though. ;^)

My favorites of his many great performances are "Catch 22" and "Slums of Beverly Hills". The fork scene in "Slums" is classic.

terrific the face resemblance to silvio berlusconi - could be perfect for a movie about his life.

Alan Arkin is comedy genius. I love him. If I was a director I'd hire him every day of the week.
