  • Clear shows me clearly in their service area, but last week a tower tech came out and said I was too far away from the tower to receive its service. The download speed never exceeded .56 Kbps. Upload was much better. Now the company is refusing to refund the money I spent on its Motorola router for home and mobile. The service has been terrible and so far not what was promised. This company risks running afoul of the Attorney General and other legal authorities in Nevada.

  • Since I live in a fairly established area of Las Vegas barely outside the beltway, I am surprised that Clear(wire) hasn't provided more transmitting towers to improve signal reception.

At the end of six months, if my signal strength has not improved, I will reluctantly drop down to a cheaper, lower-speed option or look elsewhere.

1.5Mbps download speed is only marginally acceptable for my needs. OTOH, Clear's uptime stability is better (so far) than with my previous Cox Cable internet service.

  • I'm trying Clear Home Unlimited at 1/2 off for six months. Being a computer techie, I spent an hour finding the optimum location and direction for the Motorola CPEi-25150 receiver/router for my home 1/2 mile south of Southern Hills Hospital, one mile north of Rhodes Ranch.

Unfortunately, I only get a fraction of Clear's advertised speed. I average less than 1.5Mbps down and 750kbps up, day or night.

My Motorola statistics show WiMax RSSI at -85dBm but my WiMax CINR never gets higher than 5dB.
