Speak your mind girl! I agree, the problem with the ideas of "demons" is not the same, some cultures (like in Asia) don't view demons as evil, or at least neutral. I agree also that many names of demons are actually pagan gods or spirits, and it was common by Christian churches to make demons of gods and spirits from other religions.
Totally correct information. It's the same thing as when ignorant people refer to the Orishas as demons. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm impressed that you know about the correlation of 666 with Nero Caesar. So few people know about that! Also, in classical astrology, 666 is the number of the Sun. Interesting that Catholicism later melded the "Unconquered Sun" with Jesus and made Sunday the day of worship (in place of the Hebrew Sabbath). I wonder how many people know THAT...
Hi, just to add a little info, 666 is also the number of the spirt of the sun, in the magic squares. So if you consider christ as being the Sun, so 666 is the anti-christ because it is in the opposite end of the series of numbers. The spirits of the planets are considered evil when not controled by the inteligence of the planet, whose number is 111. For without the inteligence the spirit is blind.
I think it's truly sad how many people have no idea that their religion ( and actual every day life) is actually a potluck of pagan belief mixed together and given new names ie: all the ' Christian' holidays, the names of the days of the week, names of 'demons',... well.. pretty much everything, actually *L*
I mean, what 'good' Christian or Catholic don't use holy, evergreen or mistletoe for Christmas?
I agree with you, totally. Just to be a devils advocate however.... The show is edited heavily...HEAVILY. At the end of the day, A&E holds the title and ownership and I'm sure they edit out some of this drab stuff for ratings. I would wait and talk to the lil Elfie and whatnow to hear their story, however... we both know that what you said is true anyway :) so it pays to cut 2 the chase. :)
@RivaWitch Thanks for checking out my vid, and for your comment -- I agree, pagans (particularly practicing Witches,) are getting their (our) beliefs dragged through the mud... as usual.
Great video, Para! I am not a fan of Paranormal State, Chip, or Lorraine. I also laugh when Ryan claims to be attacked by Baal or other entities. It's downright ridiculous. I agree with a lot of your points, and also disagree with some of the others based on personal experiences, but overall you produced a fantastic, thought-provoking video.
Heya Neo! Thanks for watching & commenting. I've set the comments to "approval only" & that's why your comment didn't who up right away.
Ryan is a great big sillyhead! Even though I disagree with most of the show's view-point, I still find it entertaining, so, I keep looking at it... sick, in a way, isn't it ?!
Great smile at 1:48, U are a trip in a great way. Yes, Paranormal State is biased toward their religious beliefs. I appreciate that they research both the tangible and intangible to id spirits etc. However, I do worry that the religious prism through which they look does at times mislead them. I always tell people going coming2 an investigation to clear their heads of not only religion, BUT past paranormal experiences. This way we take what comes AS IT COMES & learn from it that way.
The 666 concept can also be applied to many things. The White House sits on lot 666 in D.C. The pope Vicar of Christ is numerologically represented as 666. It is the old Kabbalah way of hiding information in numbers. But as for Paranormal State, it's the most rediculous show I have ever seen in my life.
We think alike. I think. As long as anyone tries to interpret the world (including the paranormal) through the filter of religion/christianity you wind up with shit in one hand and confusion in the other and they both weigh the same. So, why does paranormal state play on this perspective? Because it sells and it is modern pop culture.
=-)

Baal is pronounced "Bale" or "Bail" not "Ball". Check it out.

I would think Ryan would stop being a Christian if he keeps getting attacked by "demons" LOL
Pagans like myself are getting place in a bad light with these Paranormal shows.
Oh and thank you for touching on the 666 thing. Anyone with Google can learn what it really stood for.
