It feels good to know that at one point those Beatles songs didn't sound so perfect. Shows you the true work they put in as a band to make those songs sound good. Yeah, they were brilliant songwriters, but what may seem like a band of perfection has it's rougher moments.
the instrumental break / riff is all fucked up they hadnt perfected it but John was struggling with the key so they were just getting it right for us and they did didnt they but its fun to hear that they didnt get it right the first time, it gives us all hope
Yes, it is higher. This version is in the key of A. The one they eventually used was a step lower in the key of G, because as you can hear, Lennon is kind of having a hard time singing this.
