It's unfortunate. This was among the greatest shows ever aired and the public thought so! It was the highest rated show on cartoon network for both seasons! But it ran into a rough budget cut you see. And the creator commented with "Well I was running out of ideas anyway..." so we lost what could have been a further legend among animated shows of PURE badass

@dragon3600000 Okay, now I have legitimate respect for you, especially with the remembering of sheep in the big city (amazing show, I freaking loved the shrimp commercial and everything else). I remember what a cartoon show, but vaguely because I was like 5 or something when it was on. Time Squad was beast. But Adventure Time has writers from the original Cartoon Network, not to mention it is brilliant. Regular Show is also cool, as well as Sym-Bionic Titan (Genndy Tartakovsky anyone?).

@dragon3600000 I understand. A lot of people don't like Adventure Time and a lot of people don't like Regular Show. I think it's because although they are very similar, they are also very different. one is in an urban, more realistic location while the other is in a rural fantasy land. One is darker, while the other is more odd. It seems to me both of the shows' makers are doing heavy drugs, but Adventure Time guys have the light stuff and Regular Show guys have the heavy stuff. Either way, epic

It is more colorful and fantastical than Regular Show, but they constantly have sex, killing, and gay references that would confuse children and have them not appreciate all the humor as older ones do. I think Regular Show is wicked cool, but Adventure Time is interesting and hilarious cuz I see it as Legend of Zelda minus seriousness and add more asskickingl.

Of course, that being said, it's equally likely that Megas XLR's ratings were poor, compared to competitors' (such as SpongeBob), and the sheer cost of production. I mean, I don't like it, but I'm sure they had some valid reason.

It didn't appeal to the 14+ age group very well, and the 6-10 and 11-13 age groups were covered by SpongeBob SquarePants at the time. Cartoon Network started its drop in popularity before Megas XLR was even big. I mean, Turner Broadcasting isn't STUPID. No self-loving business is. They wouldn't have cut a show that grossed well.

Take Invader Zim as an example- When it was first aired, it was bashed hard by critics, and was pretty controversial for the ideas it seemed to spew. Yet, eventually after it was taken down from Primetime Nick, the fans multiplied into a pretty huge base from when the show was cancelled.

Hell, even when Code Lyoko was cancelled, I kinda was sad, even though I didnt watch it that much, at the time.

This show was great simply for its lack of intelligent direction. The "plot", or lack thereof, was nothing more than the lives of a couple of dipshits from Jersey who rode around in a robot from the future, blowing things up, and cracking jokes (which, even in a kids show, managed to be hilarious 100% of the time). I absolutely loved it. It was every kid's (and, let's face it, man's) playground of completely unrealistic masculine fantasy. There needs to be a movie.

@wavelength121 one of the best shows ever.Its a american(Possibly Canadian) mecha series that was on Cartoon Networks Toonami block.Story:In the future,theres some war going on against these squid kinda guys and the federation or whatever its called(the good guys) are forced to send their best mech to the past,so that one of their people can go to the past as well and take out the enemy when theyre still weak.It ends up in a junkyard in the past where we meet coop.He buys it for just a few bucks
