This song is always the start of the family dance party! We scream the words and dance around like idiots. We went to see them at Ravina last year and they didnt play it. We were so bummed!
Yeah great song from an equally great album. I remember buying the cd single of this when it was released (Maidstone and Mood Swings were the other 2 tracks on it). I think they only played one number ,House of Love from Play when I saw them at the Glasgow Barrowlands back in the mid 90's. I'd say East Side Story, Play and Some Fantastic Place are my 3 fave albums of theirs. Jim Drury's 2004 book Song By Song is good.
One of my favorite songs of all time. I saw them open for Sting on his Soul Cages tour and they gave Sting a run for the money that night. A truly underrated band. Great musicians and songwriters.
Opened with this song @ the Venue New Cross Dec 1991, classc.

I think I have seen Squeeze close to 100 times and don't recall them playing this song ever.
A great track. The fact that PLAY was ignored by radio is sickening.

Every Squeeze album was excellent. "Play" was no exception.

Difford and Tillbrook have been incredibly prolific, brilliant songwriters.
