This is a beautiful song, and you played it very well! There aren't many "modern" Christian songs that I like, but I really like this one, having just heard it for the first time here. I want to find the music so I can play it! You're right, it's a great stress reliever. Thank you for sharing it. What kinfd of organ are you playing? It has a very nice tone. By the way, I played the Prayer of St. Francis at my niece's wedding a few years ago on a very nice, newly rebuilt III/72 Casavant.
You're welcome, the Organ I am using is a Viscount ( made in Italy ) and I am playing it at my Condo in South Florida. Thank you for visiting - Lance †
I love this song. There is something that happens in the human breast when we talk about our redeemer. The musician and the music stirs the stirs something deep within the human spirit.
Again, you have blessed my heart, what a great song, have been blessed my Keith Green music for some years since his passing, and you do it fantistacly. god bless you buddy.
Thank you Lance for posting this one. I did not think much of this song until I heard you play it so nicely. I have play this for Ash Wed service tomorrow night. Since it is new to our congregation, I may well play it like you did here for a prelude as well.
I heard this song before...used to be a fan of Christian music so now I like most music except for jazz and rap. You do a very good job on that organ.
Just as in painting, performing on an instrument can be sometimes as or more instructive and communicative in a simple style, than when played with a flourish or in a more complex rendition.
Complexity of performance can detract from the message of the lyrics, or make it difficult for a church congregation to follow.
I like your hymn selection...the lyrics are profound.
Thank you "Brilliant " you were able to play this music ,because the musi, and player, were under the anointing of of GOD May God's blessings of Love, Joy, and Peace be yours as you serve His Kingdom M.H.
hiya organpipe, im just checkin out your other hymns, like i said im new to all this god stuff and this song is lovely, never ever heard this before and it is such a pretty tune, thanku
Lance - I am sure that Keith is smiling down on you from Heaven. A song written with such reverence has been played by you with such great reverence. Please keep posting these great songs - you are truly blessed. Graem, Adelaide, Australia
Hi Organpipe8! God has really gifted you with a wonderful talent as an organist! Keep it up! I was deeply moved by your very beautiful arrangements and transitions! You are also giving me some new ideas for my own organ talent. May the Lord be praised and thanked for giving us His Son, Jesus Christ!!
Thanks - yes I play Piano but I do not have one, I only get a chance to play sometime in Church or if I go to a Nursing Home to play for the Elderly and they love it, I play the Old Gospel Hymns and you would be surprised how many can still sing all the words.
Wonderful!!!! You really ought to consider publishing a CD. You are certainly gifted by the good Lord. If you have a chance or the opportunity, I would like you to play Battle Hymn of the Republic on a large pipe organ and Widor's Tocatta op 42.
Thank You - a great Hymn, I heard it on the radio the other day and downloaded the MIDI file for the melody and this is my own interpretation until I get the original music - enjoy †
