Cafferty, and all people, are allowed to hold their opinions, but should express them in a way that does not generalize a whole nation of over 1 billion by calling Chinese "goons and thugs." When there are thousands of citizens, not politicians, holding online petitions and public protests asking for something as simple as an apology, you know something is wrong.Comments like the one above do not help anyone anywhere and show ignorance rather than knowledge.

It was pretty clear to me that the "Goons and Thugs" comment was aimed at the government of China, not it's people.The furore that has ensued, calling Jack's comments racist is just what you'd expect - a smokescreen to avoid answering the other issues Jack raised - what is the impact of China holding significant amounts of Foreign debt, what is China's record on human rights, what are the long term consequences of exporting manufacturing and jobs into the Chinese economy.
