I've seen the music but it somehow didn't fit with the song. The problem I think is that Kate and her guitarist at the time of this recording used an odd open tuning which I know can be found on the internet somewhere. I think if you look for the chords for The Jolly Ploughboys, you will find a site with her bizzare tuning.

He's a character from Gunnerkrigg Court, but then the authors a big Kate Rusby fan :)

It appears to be a old English Ballad, the earliest printing of which seems to be 1686. This version is pretty faithful to the original actually.

Been to a few of Kates shows. Excellent music and a great atmosphere. If you get chance to see her, do it before she starts popping out kids and staying at home !! This is taken from her live from leeds dvd which is great too, loads of extras. She is truely amazing. Went to see her in Poole 13/10/07. Wow! Lovely lass. We stayed in the same hotel as them and bumped into a few band members. I was star struck! Hubby just laughed!!
