A trick I've done on this level was stick the gold Elite standing in the door right before it closed.

Left three Warthogs with six Marines riding shotgun and manning the machine guns at the top of the ramp, who killed the gold Elite that ran out after the doors were unlocked.

Then returning to the unlocked doors, they chased off the third gold Elite, who I had to go after and finish.

You can drive the warthog through the door before it closes and beat the level in 10 minutes, then jump on the overshield.

The trick is at 3:35, I found out that pretty quickly myself when I played the campaign (I don't mean when I played the campaign after I watched this video, I mean I thought it out myself when I played halo 1 trial on xbox a long time ago)

The real trick is to drive the Warthog down there so the gunner kills the Elite that spawns.

DUDE i figured this one out on my own but differently. I knew how if u hit a slope just right how u slide and take nearly no damage if u crouch. Well wat i did is i jumped and hit the one ramp and slid. I lost all shields and some health then i jumped down on the over shields and all.

u know the oversheald at the bottom? well if you jump and land right at the oversheald and crouch at the right moment and you dont lose any health and any sheild, also your at the cartographer! =D

You don't even need the overshield to do that.

You'll want to aim for the slanted ramp the first jump, causing no damage.

The second jump comes immediately after, where you'll land on top of the overshield.

way easier way jump on the right side the opposite u should see a little ledge jump on in well kinda walk if u jump u die i made it from there till the shield and rushed back up to the top ^^

I've done that, but its possible to get to the lowest ledge and have a full over-shield with full health.

You just needed to drop to the last ledge, but make sure you land on the over-shield at the bottom and bingo! Full over-shield with while keeping any health you have! lol
