What a shame to build such a monstrosity on a beautiful coast. There are many ways of enjoying nature my preferred method is being in it, and not in a building with overweight cancerous tourists.
In fact the building is the old bath house that was being eroded by the sea at the other end of the island. It is a piece of history that the people of Dunedin wanted to preserve, and share with and educate visitors.
You speak the sad truth. It is just sad to me to see Florida's natural beauty vanish with every passing year. Almost all the unspoiled beaches are gone. Honeymoon Island is one of the last remaining crumbs of what Florida was once like. Having fat parasitic tourists coming by the thousands will destroy it. Those people have little respect for anything other than Wall-Marts and A/C units.
