  • Meraviglioso chitarrista!

  • the pauses are a nice idea, but I'd prefer them to be a little shorter

  • sei fantastico ! ti vedo presto al festival chitarristico e mandolinistico internazionale di Busto Arsizio.

  • sei fantastico !

  • excellente ! :)

  • i feel like my soul just got fucked a little.

    amazing playing.

  • Very vrery very nice !!! (TS)

  • I think the pauses between variations are a wonderful idea because It allows the listeners to absorb what he has heard and to prepare himself for what is coming next. Some fast movements immediately follow each other, so you need to have some silence in between. Excellent rendition. Bravo.

  • @insanmukmin1

    I totally share your opinion.

    Greetings.

  • Does anuyone know where to find Lorenzo's version of Llobet's Scherzo Valse. It use to be posted. Thanks

  • gret technique..but pauses are trully not necessery..:)

  • *Pauses

  • Great technique but i fucking hate the pieces between each variation. It fucking kills the flow

  • I have a number of different recordings of this piece by Llobet, but Micheli's is the most musically intelligent. And, as someone remarked, he can play the guitar. What more does an aficionado want?

    Giulitar

  • fool! dolt!!

  • I found the music to the first two movements, but I can't seem to find the rest. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the rest of the music?

  • I saw him play i SoloDuo in Denver this past weekend. Breathtaking.

  • Every time I hear this piece its moves me and he plays it with such expression that brings out the real feeling and emotion that this piece suppose to have. This is near perfect performance (so far).

  • che grande!!!

  • this is the real variations for classical guitar, exploring his whole potencial!

  • Insanely good!

  • ¡Interpretación monumental!

  • I believe this is one of the best music performances on youtube. Intense yet unstressful: A piercing display of virtuosity and musicianship.

  • Grazie Lorenzo (and Arts & Strings for posting), ascoltarti e` sempre un grandissimo piacere.

  • The Information is not 100% acurate, however I read that at least, the Llobet recording was played with a "De Miranda" guitar; maybe in this performance he used the same one (just guessing...).

  • Please give us the full name and composer for this piece!

  • Please check back the updated description on the video,

    Regards.

  • Lorenzo certainly does a wonderful job here, Bravo!!!

... but with all due respect to Maestro Llobet, Fernando Sor did not write this theme. "Las Folias" was at least a few centuries old when Sor created his variations. Gaspar Sanz did his own version for five-course baroque guitar in the late 1600's,. Many versions are known to predate the Sanz. In fact there are now actually hundreds of versions of this theme. Llobet's is certainly one of the most ambitious. Thanks for posting!

  • 0.00-0:34 Theme as arranged by Sor from Sanz version

    0:34-1:04 Variation 1 by Sor

    1:04-1:42 Variation 2 by Sor

    1:42-9:03 Variations by Miguel Llobet

  • You know, every time I searched for the correct title for this variations and even for the different movements I found different versions on the net. If you think the title of the video or something on the description should be changed feel free to post your opinion, it will certainly be welcome. Thank you for stopping by and for your work on one of the best musical / guitar channels on YT: SoloGuitaristNet.

    Greetings friend !

  • Thanks very much for your reply. That is the correct title as Llobet called his work, but Llobet assumed Sor wrote the theme. "Llobet"s variations on Sor's variations of Las Folias" seems kind of verbose. It is a great work at any rate. Most performers of the piece do know it's heritage.
