I have both a Filco Majestouch (regular 104-keys with Cherry Blues) and a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, and I must say that the Blackwidow sounds less loud. Must be the softer plastics they use for the topside part of the casing and the thicker keycaps made of softer clear plastics.
I just love the music of cherry blue switches, clickity-clackity. Only thing more melodius is the sound of buckling springs from classical Model Ms and modernized Customizers.
@BadnessGaming I got the razer first, as my first taste of owning a mech board. Too bad the lousy board controllers die after 4 months, so I've ditched my Blackwidow after it died twice and I RMA'd it once. My only nitpick is that the filco is a tad louder, but that can be adapted to.
@gigaslave cool. I just went keyboard crazy and bought a filco mx black 10keyless AND a leopold mx blue 10keyless just so i can try out both lol. I'll probably end up using the blue for typing and the black for games.
@BadnessGaming Their springs are more substantial than cherry mx blues. I love the THOCK sound they make when they finally buckle and strike the plating inside. I recall finding them even more tactile than blues anyday, and their solidity prevents accidental typing even moreso than cherry blacks.
I actually have a tenkeyless brown-switch filco majestouch 2, although I haven't used it much. It's nice and much quieter, but a little light on the tactile point.
@gigaslave from my point of view, Mx Blue and Buckling Springs are made for the pleasure of mechanical typing, and Mx Brown for the pleasure of fast typing.
HI thanks for the reply earlier. I found this keyboard for 120, picking it up onsite. What do you think? Is it a good price? It's USED, Like new. Thank you
@studiosushi just got a "used for a month" one off ebay for $99. I think that's decent for a filco. But I have a feeling I might run into his same dilemma. Sleepless girlfriend pulling the veto card haha.
I have a question. What would u go with if you have choice between THIS ONE and Das Keyboard Ultimate. They are both Blue switches. And Why? Please let me know!
yayyy! :D and im getting a xarmor keyboard its supposed to be like that exactly kinda...but with back lights ^.^ IM me or something when you make new one :DDD
@TheMetaphorR They now have a lot of them in stock on Amazon. KeyboardCo is the seller, but you can get them without paying the ridiculous shipping prices now.
You should also try the Matias Tactile Pro 3, if you're a Mac user. It's an incredible keyboard with Alps switches, which are harder to press than the blues (I also have the same keyboard as you do in this video), but the Alps are more precise and faster IMHO. Give it a spin if you haven't already.
@shrumpkin Thx for the ref. Coming soon videos: Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless "Otaku" Keyboard (Cherry MX Brown), Sanwa, Unicomp, IBM Model M, Das Keyboard, Steelseries 7G and ... a Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional 2 (white + blank keycaps)! :]
@6overclockster9 Thx ! Filco keyboards are "qwerty" only. I chose the "blank keys" / "Otaku" model because of its pure design, but also because I'm using a Mac OS X profile with different positions for characters like #, @, =, +, - etc ...
where can i buy one of these? plz respond.

@gigaslave i hope you bought that filco after the razer. Because i don't know why anyone would buy a razer after owning a filco lol.

@BadnessGaming If I get the chance to buy a customizer or a geekhack-refurbished Model M, I might try going back to Buckling Springs.

@gigaslave i don't have a clue what buckling springs feel like when typing. Are they suppose to be better...?

The sound of this video is very close to what what the keyboard itself sounds like IRL, without the resonance that a desk adds.
