but where can i find the lyrics to this song?

  • This is one band that has followed me into my 40's. This sound never grows old nor is lost on me.

  • This song brings a smile and a tear simultaneously.

  • i adore this,it is so rich in beauty and loveliness that it soothes my soul every time i hear it.more than just a song.

  • 'i never want to wake' when im listening to this song...

  • perfect song for me ^_^

  • when you're searching your soul

    when you're searching for pleasure

how often, pain is all you find

when you're coasting along and nobody's trying too hard

you can turn around and like where you are..

    best part.

  • @hedkandigirl I just shared that part of the song last night to a friend who didn't know of the tune. #nocoincidences !

  • @hedkandigirl thumbs up to u...i agree...

  • @hedkandigirl what does that part mean?

  • @vincentdcn it can mean different things for different people i guess...but if talking about love, the best feeling is when its natural, unexpected and not demanding ;-)

  • @hedkandigirl that has ALWAYS been the best part to me too! : ) ....I love bands from other countries.. they have more important things to sing about :P : )

  • @nannyanny3 i'm glad you agree ;-)

  • AWESOME!! Thank you for loading this vid up <3

  • Hermosas canciones, tan suaves, tan tranquilas. I love The Sundays.

  • sing me a rainbow....nuff said.

  • I would say that there are fillers on this album. But this song is truly special. It has that automatic quality about it, as good as The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, The Stones, The Smiths, Simon and G. It`s that good.

  • That song is sublime. It is so mellow and relaxing it's almost enough to put me to sleep, except that I feel a chill down my spine when she hits the higher notes on the chorus line. Exquisitely beautiful.

  • great song this is love it ! its sunday today lol!

  • Her voice strikes like an angelic light. Her emotional clarity cleanses the heart. And her hidden innocence sustains hopes and dreams. She is unique.

  • beautiful song!!! :) this is te first time the i heard this song and simply beautiful remermer me mazzy star beautiful voice:=)

  • Hope i never wake, when im thinking about you (Sherri) Although it seems impossible that we will ever see each other again, i still hold on to hope.

  • ...listening to this song before it starts to rain...it gives me peace...

  • The Sundays and Mazzy Star are my favorite bands of all time. I think both of them only released 3 albums each. I could listen to them for all time. I hope that they will release more. But if they don't, thats ok. I will treasure this music always.

  • This song just makes me feel good, & nuttin wrong w/feelin good

  • i like this song very much...it gives me peace...

  • This song is so beautiful!

  • she makes everyday like sunday

  • @CollectorOfMusic Uh oh, sounds like someone has got a case of the mundays

  • Very beautiful vocals--perfect for their style of music. I wish they would make a new album.

  • I love this song

  • I am so in Love with Harriet !!!!!

    Absolutely AMAZING !!!!!!!!!

  • Love so much this harmony .

  • just heard it on the radio for the first time, and I had to find it on net to listen to the song again.

  • i love this...:)

  • Nice. I still love them so.

  • "when you're searching your soul when you're searching for pleasure how often pain is all you find..."

  • FOR MY HONEYBEE xxx xxx xxx

  • Perfect :) A band that released three perfect albums, and then disappeared. Why????

  • They stopped to raise their child. It's too bad becuase they are raw talent...

  • As much as raising a child and being a parent is a beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime experience, I have such big hopes that they will come back sooner or later, when we expect it the least. It'd be a shame to see all that talent and beauty terminated and unproductive for the rest of time. I have a feeling they will come back and strike again for the best.

  • @SebastianSolorzano

    The sound is beautiful.

Perhaps, as satisfying as it is to create their music, they have decided to dedicate where they are now to themeselves.

There are things in an industry, in a career, in a life, that can be less than pleasant. And when taking on a family, it is nice to have a viable, maybe quieter, option to fall back on.

Kudos to what they did in the past. We will still be able to enjoy it. And best wishes to whatever they have plans for in the future.

  • oh i so agree with you.. i miss them, too.

  • My forever love song

  • i agree with you

  • I was in London some years ago and heard the Rolling Stones' version of "Wild Horses." I realized right there that not only was The Sundays' verson better, but that Harriet Wheeler has one of the finest voices I have ever heard. She is a giant of a talent, who never caught on here in the States. I tried to see the Sundays in England, but never got the chance. Their albums are pure magic, however. I would recommend them to anyone.

  • Their albums went gold in the States, funnily enough.

  • there was another artist that recently covered this that made me look for this, but i forgot who.

  • I remember buying Static and Silence in 97. A great album that was largely overlooked as I recall. This was probably the most dreamy song on the cd. A timeless classic.

  • Definitely a wonderful song, love it, love it, love it.

  • beautiful song. Both vocally and lyricaly (?)

  • It is certainly one of those rare albums where each song is cherished. But what makes the Sundays one of the greatest bands is not even Harriet's angelic voice or their delicate melodies. Their last album more than the previous give expression to some of the most tender emotions, emotions normally not accessible in music, at least not those with words.

Emotional truth and wisdom. Their true legacy.

  • 1st two albums were borderline perfection. For me 'Static and silence' was a notch down, except for this song which is blood curdingly gorgeous.

  • I'm the other way around. The other two albums have bits I can do without, whereas this is fantastic all the way through.

  • I agree with you this whole album is perfect!!!!!!!! but now I'm haunted by it......very hard to listen to now

  • I think the third album had more of a polished, produced sound, whereas the first two were of a more raw, indie style. Some people like that change, and some don't. The addition of the horns on Summertime and I Can't Wait shocked me at first, but I warmed up to the entire album after a while.

  • That is an apt way to contrast static/silence with the first two. I'm tempted to disagree but cannot. A more produced sound as you say isn't necessarily better but the lyrics on the last album are more memorable in my mind-- at least more of them.

  • the simple truth is that "Static and Silence" is pop masterpiece. it's one of those rare albums were every song is like a master class in pop music craft. i cherish this album and never tire of listening to it.

  • @Forestski I agree and I don't know why my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, who lived through the 80s don't have their album. I was born in the 90s by the way.

  • @Forestski ...you're absolutely right...it could not even be rebirth...

  • Is she Australian?

  • She's a Brit!

  • From Fleet in Hampshire originally. Hang around the South Bank in London on a Sunday, and you just might bump into Harriet & David (and their kids). Next time I'll get up the courage to say hello and thanks.

  • I totally agree with Deckers1, it's right up there with the outstanding love songs and it is mesmerizing to hear her voice..

  • What a voice! All three albums were good but I prefer " Blind" the second album, the best track they ever did was from this album "Cry" I can't believe how good that is!

  • yeah this was their pinnacle album. I doubt if it can be bettered.

  • If being in love could be expressed in words in music, then this is it.

  • I was so breathless I died for a minute

  • ...and i thought "Life goes on" was a wonderful melancholic offering...

    ..it was emotional!

  • i am breathless

  • Harriet? We're waiting for you to come back whenever you're ready. 3 albums was not enough. Probably their best recording...hands down.

  • not many songs are timeless, this is one of them

  • hope i'll never wake when i'm thinking about you... such a lovely song... i'll never get tired of listening...

  • Yeah, The Sundays are great.

  • Jesus. Stunning. What else can I say....I don't have it in me to do this justice with mere words....

  • love this song

  • god, i love this song...please keep this up and running.

  • In English Pls!

  • moral of this song?

'Our muffled life is granted unclear, painfully, sharply dreary and occasionally desperate; but in the end there is no hiding the ever longed for fuzzy tickle. Just please, let me relinquish, banish the feather forever to the foolish! I am enough to scour. I am tired and ready for blessed sleep in hope of the common, pure dream.'

    Jp

  • At first I thought "here's where d story ends" was their best, until I bought d cd "Static and silence" in 1997 n heard this beautifully haunting song. During that time I was in like with a girl next door and can't do anything bcos she was dating another guy...Now hearing this song I wanna throw my chair to the wall and get hysterical...hehe just kidding

  • such a lovely song !

  • Fantastic song :))

  • This is such a beautiful song.

  • Truly a bliss song!!!

The angelic voice of Harriet and the heavenly melody make you dream!!!

    One of my lovest

  • love the sundays..more power

  • It's a travesty they removed the black and white version. It was so good I wanna cry

  • this one's for you LEON

  • Great song, possibly their best ever. So addictive.

  • I must have watch the b/w version 100 times.

    gonna miss it.

  • I think it was hockeycoat that had that posted, he seems to have gone. The "Goodbye" video went too, very sad.

  • I'm bummmed!!!! they removed the "live" black and white acoustic version of this beautiful song.

  • I am bummed too. Who had it? It needs to be put back up! Pronto!!

  • i think comebackharriet had it. He said "he can post the b&w acoustic they did for MTV Europe, but YouTube will quickly remove it and kill his account because Viacom (which owns MTV) is really pressuring them to enforce copyright infringement". sucks.

  • thats the mtv version in black and white on myspace

  • Damn straight. Where'd it go? Where's it at? DAMN! It was a piece of heaven. Ms. Wheeler should start a solo career.

  • I love the imagery. Lovely. :)

  • so comforting... its like moving through the sky on a cloud, floating and resting.

  • Hurt's to hear,but it's a good hurt.love the sundays!

  • tina, i love you so much.

  • On immediate listen i couldn't get into it quite like i did the first two albums until i came to this song which, naturally, changed my life. indescribable.

  • I rank this album right up there with my favorites.I listened to this every day for a month when it came out in 1997.

  • possibly the saddest song i've ever heard, right up there with "i know it's over". an absolute dream.

  • Thank You for making this video.

One of my favorite songs ever.

    The Sundays rule.

    Just love Harriet Wheeler voice.

and their lyrics/poems are like bliss.
